WOW!!! That's amazing! These little guys are pretty curious. they haven't minded me sitting on the deck while they came to feed. Never thought of doing this though. Bet I could make it happen!

Yes I do. I would really go broke if I tried feeding them store bought nectar. I just mix it @ 4 cups sugar, several drops of red food coloring and enough water to fill my 1 gallon pitcher. The food coloring isn't really necessary to attract the hummers but it makes it easier for me to tell when I need to refill the feeders.

I solved my ant problem by making a plastic cone out of 5 qt ice cream container lid and smearing it with Vaseline. I don't have a really big problem with bees since I have enough feeding stations for them all to share. 2 of the feeders only have 4 stations but the other 2 have 10 stations each.

The humm zinger feeder solved the ant problem. The post it hangs from has a water resivoir the ants won't cross. The bees are still a problem - they actually chase away the hummers. I bought tiny little caps that fit over the feeder tubes, but they keep disappearing. I think they go down the drain when I clean the feeder. They do seem to be effective, I just have to buy a larger supply. Hopefully we'll have moved by next summer and I'm going to put out more feeders. I didn't want to do that here in case new owners don't keep up with it.
