My wife is having hell with her older Precise 10440. Sometimes it works, sometimes it won't. When it fires it seems real weak also. I've cleaned the contacts and checked voltage where the atomizer connects. I've also checked the atomizer with an ohm meter. I'm wondering if these TrustFire protected 10440s are cutting off trying supply enough current for the 1.5 ohm LR atomizer. Anyone ran into this problem?

You answered your own question. Get a couple of AW ICR 10440's from David and your wife will be in vape Nirvannah.
yup i second that sir, when I had my p+10440 all I used were the blue high drains and it fired hard every time =) Good luck! If I had spare 10440's I'd send them..

Not to put a damper on things, but stay safe and use the IMR 10440s or stay with protected. I too have an older 10440. It helps to have the brass button as far as improving contact. Also, I wash out my juice well daily and this helps alot! Without vents, the chance of battery runaway or meltdown is always a concern. I know the aw's are great batteries and have used them. But I prefer safety.

You'll need an IMR switch too to run an IMR or AW ICR 10440 since they are a shorter battery. I will have to see if i can scare one up. You may want to upgrade the top cap center post to rhodium too.

Quendelyn also brings up a good point about washing out the atomizer threads and juice well, you'll find when gunk and juice builds up in there (and this applies to all mods) it does start to effect the connection and causes a small drain on the battery.
