Hi everyone,

I recently checked the voltage on 2 trustfire protected batteries and both had read at a zero voltage. I ten tried to use these batts in my Precise to confirm that they were in fact dead. The voltage should have cutoff at 2.70 volts I believe. However, I decided to put them in the chrger for a couple minutes to see if there would be any effect on them. Now they are reading 3.67 volts each. They seem to work fine. I will be cautious about charging them further as I am concerned they may be faulty. And far as the multi meter volt reader is concerned I do not think that it is the problem.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

H.

Hey Hash,

The reading that you got on your 10440's was due to the fact that for some reason the protection circuit had been tripped. Yes, by putting them on the charger it seems to "untrip" them and they are fine again.
That has been my experience anyway, but I am sure some guru will come on and either confirm or dispute me.

Regards
Jim

I've tested a few of them after running them to the point of cutoff and they did read zero. Charged them back up and used them as normal, no worries, the PCB is not allowing a reading to show. This is on a 2x10440 device, one reads zero after cuttoff (first one in the series) and the second is always around 2.7-ish, right before the listed cuttoff voltage.
