hi,

the button assembly on my precise is made of 2 brass pieces and one spring. should the two bass pieces be able to move against each other without resistance? i think i had got some conducting grease in there and it was locking up all the way in, but the vaporizer wouldn't fire. i've since smoothed it out a bit, but there are some dings from where i've dropped it, and if the button is rotated just right, it still locks up.

does anyone have any advice on resmoothing out the button so it doesn't stick?

also, while messing with it in a bar i managed to lose the spring. Are these easily available, or do I have to bug David for one?

thanks,

gerry

Sounds like a little burr indentation on the brass button or shield part (perhaps from when it was dropped?), thus making it stick, you'll have to find the burr and sand it, or you can send it to me and i can, no charge.

As far as spare springs, i have some, and i'll put those up on the site by this evening so you can order one. I'll just put them up on the site at my cost. They are a custom made spring, so they aren't available at a hardware store or the like.
