Somebody here on another thread told me to throw away any batteries with the plastic exposed so I threw away one the other day.... When you say the shrink-wrap, are you talking about the plastic that 'coats' the metal? There was just one tiny part of that plastic gone from the top of the battery leaving the metal exposed there. I thought it was dangerous to use it so I trashed it. Is it not?

Yes, especially if it's on the side of batteries, as they can short out. But just at the top of the battery, sometimes that plastic was wraped around the the battery top so that it interfered with the top post connecting. I think Grimdog just trimmed it a bit carefully just on the top.

Finally decided to read this thread............................

I was using the same 2 10440 ever since I got the Precise and decided to toss them.
I had 2 more sets and payed particular attention to the button top portion and chose the 2 I am using now.............................WOW what a difference a good top makes with these batteries. Kind of hit and miss when you buy them if you ask me.

I have used the Precise more in the last couple days then I have since I got it.

I think David is correct when he says these batteries will be the "Bane of his existence"

Yeah, those batteries give the Precise 10440 a bad name...lol. I'm hoping to have the Precise 10440 swictes in that utilize the AW brand 10440 in a few weeks. It'll give Precise 10440 owners a much better battery option.

Today I decided to try one of the two regular AW LI's with protection circuits. I found that, as suggested, one had to remove one of the O rings, but the problem is that while that does allow the battery post to screw down, it also has the effect of making the battery quite loose in the device. I think we need a thinner second O ring.

I won't be having a preorder on the AW compatible switches, but they are the next items to be machined after the Precise 16340 and 18650 are done:)

Hey david. How is the progress on this switch upgrade? I purchased a p10 from Rotten76 today for the fiancee and am just curious how long until these are ready. Thanks
