I have a Triple V Sidewinder Pyrex tank from Valley View Vapes & I would also recommend them to anyone. They have the non-sidewinder versions as well but I prefer the side fill myself. I still like to have some kind of smaller clearomizers around but when I know that I really like a flavor & want 7mls of it...I use that.

Oops... it's possible that's the one, but the one I'm referring to didn't look like the one in your pic. They were talking about Vision making it and it being an improvement over the VN's and finally a botom coil from Vision! From what I remember reading... it hasn't been released to the general public yet. I probably bookmarked it so I'll check whenever I bust out the laptop.

The Protank is another I just read about and it looks so sleek! Can't wait to try it too since I'm pretty happy with Kanger products so far and was looking into glass and pyrex tanks recently! I hope/wish VV could carry some of their newer products! If anyone gets one please share your thoughts on it here on the VV forum.

I wouldn't be surprised if Vision is also coming out with glass tanks!

Sooooo.....silly question...Does the juice just drip into the cartomizer through the punched holes? I stink at re-filling & keeping carto's filled. These remind me of the old DCT's but the Pyrex is GREAT! His web site doesn't say but I assume standard punched Boge for the 4ml & XL Boge for the 7ml? Do you need to fill the sidewinder with a blunt tip bottle?

The juice feeds through the punched hole yes...but you can slot or punch your own if you need the holes bigger than pre-punched cartos. Even with the 100% VG, the pre-punched Boge cartos he sells work well. I am planning on testing out the smoketek XL 3 hole cartos to see if they work since I am not a fan of the smash-punched cartos as I call them...but haven't ordered them just yet.

At the end of the second description paragraph for both tanks, he does say which carto size to use & yes, you are correct on your assumption.

You could use one of those plastic blunt tipped dropper bottles if you wish. I personally use a glass hypodermic syringe with 2" blunt tipped needles since it is much easier. But I guess the plastic dropper style bottle would be handy on the go. Honestly though, the fill hole is a fair size & very easy to work with.

This is a fairly fat tank as shown by MrPicC in post #2 here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/provape/383695-triple-v-sidewinder-tank-provari.html
So keep that in mind if you are interested. It doesn't bother me a bit since it keeps my ecig from being super tall.

Thank you so much for the info!! I did try the DCT style tanks about a year ago when I started vaping...got distracted by the ease of the Clearos....I am really over them lately. Hate the nova, tired of the burned juice & constant cleaning of my V3 but had problems refilling the cartos when I recently tried to change...research & exploration continues.

Your very welcome. I myself am doing constant research & testing to find the most satisfactory vaping gear for my VV juices. I just order some Kanger EVODS to test out to see if they work better than the nova (which I have high hopes they will). Whenever the Protank is available, I plan on trying that out as well since it is a pyrex bottom coil tank rather than plastic.

I also ordered some single coil, 2 ohm, 3 hole, XL smoktek tank cartos(Single Coil XL Tank replacement 510 cartomizer for 3.5 and 6ml SmokTank XL - w/flange and 1, 2 or 3 holes.) to test out in my Triple V Sidewinder & see how well they perform with 100% VG juices from VV. The pre-punched, pre-tested cartos from Valley View Vapes work just fine for VV juices but I am kind of a finicky person about asthetics & am not terribly fond of the indented look caused by certain punching methods, which those ones are that way. Plus, there is always the risk of those indents causing the tank to leak if the carto is deformed too much. So again, once I have tested these out, I will let you know how well they perform with the thicker style juices.

As far as ease of use goes...I find the maintenance on the tank to actually be less work than the clearomizers. Valley View Vapes has the cartomizer tank tool that makes inserting the cartomizer into the tank really easy. The side fill hole is insanely convenient & removes the issue of having to slide the cartomizer down a bit to fill the tank. The cartomizers usually last for several tanks so you don't have to mess with them often & as long as you aren't using super potent flavors that permanently flavor the cartomizer, you can change out flavors without changing out the cartomizer. I personally prefer pyrex, but if you wanted to save a little money now then upgrade later, you could always buy one of the polypropylene Triple V tanks with the side fill hole. They will not have the cracking issue that plagues the cheap polycarbonate & acrylic tanks/clearomizers.

Again, I stand by Valley View Vapes...they are a solid company & good to their customers. I was stupid when I first got my new tank & didn't know how to use the tank tool properly. Long story short, I ended up damaging the o-rings in the caps. I sent an e-mail to them asking for some advice on using the tool & telling them how hard of a time I had. Once they replied, I had almost immediately felt like an idiot as the "light bulb" in my head instantly came on & I realized how hard I had made a simple task. I left the conversation with a Thank You & then planned on ordering some new o-rings as soon as I got home. Before 10 minutes had passed, they e-mailed me asking me if I had damaged any of the o-rings & if so, they would send me some extras. Even telling them that I would pay since it was my fault, they sent them to me for free anyway. Great customer service creates faithful customers. :toast:

I'd love to hear your thoughts on the EVOD. I intend to try that one too. My supplies vendor won't have the ProTank until May.
I will post my thoughts/comparisons as soon as I receive them & have a chance to test out a few refills worth. I buy from a few different vendors & it doesn't look like any of them will have the protanks for a little while yet. That is partially due to the fact the Kanger delayed production to fix an issue with the glass connection.

So I filled up an EVOD yesterday morning & vaped on it all day. Although it's a bit soon to give any final score, it's worth saying that I already have no intention of ever using my Vivi Nova again as long as I have these around. The flavor & vapor production is insanely better. I am also at the bottom of my first tank & my juice is not a dark thick flavorless liquid as it becomes in the Vivi Nova. These bottom coil systems just feel like they were made just for those of us that prefer 100% VG. No it does not hold a lot of juice, but it holds enough for an average day.

I recommend watching A PBusardo Review - The Kanger ProTank - YouTube to give you idea on how these are put together. Yes, this video is for the Protank, but the build, fill method & coil placement are the same. Not to mention, if you like these, you will probably want to grab some Protanks anyway, as I have.

I don't remember for sure if he mentions in this video, but it is a good idea to screw the bottom coil on as tight as you can with your fingers. Before I purchased these, I researched around & found that one of the biggest problem people have is leaking. In this research, I also found a lot of people who mentioned that they only had leaking before they realized they had to tighten them really well. I haven't had any leaking issues myself & I made sure to tighten this first fill very well.

You will hear some gurgling here & there, which IMO, is to be expected from a bottom coil design. With 100% VG VV juices though, I have not had any issues with flooding at all...I could see this being a potential issue with thin juices though. I will point out that even with the occasional gurgle, I have yet to have any juice come up the air chamber to the tip.

One thing about these that I am not terribly fond of however (which could be because of a poorly made adapter), is that they don't sit on top of the device perfectly straight. Despite my best efforts, I couldn't get it to screw on the top of my Provari 100% aligned with the device. Again, this my just be a poorly machined adapter. Don't let me scare you however, it isn't too bad & unless you are a crazy person like myself, you probably won't care. It's not enough to steer me away from using the device though.

**Addition: I think it would be a good idea if as many VV customers tested out these EVODS as well as the Protank. The more of us that prefer them with our VV juices, the better chance we might have of seeing them, as well as their replacement heads, available on the VV website.**

So... I had already placed different orders before you posted the link to the available ProTanks...three orders in one day :)
I received two orders today so I am now in possession of my EVOD's & my ProTank as well. I so agree with your EVOD comments!! I LOVE it a lot!! I too will refrain from durability since it has only been a few hours. I wish I didn't have this horrible cold so I could taste something! am also on a bottle of my Crème Caramel during the lab move & I didn't add my normal extra flavor to cause Annette customizing issues. I love the look, the weight & the size. PURPLE :)

Thank you! I did figure out what everything was but I will definitely peek at this video...wish the heads were marked but I see ivapes only has 2.5 so I guess that is what is in the box too.

Agreed....I had heard Annette was considering adding more hardware to her line up. I am sure it must be costly with minimum lot orders & all but I agree on the EVOD...in fact, anything bottom feed for an option & Kanger seems to be a great product line. The pyrex ProTank is a nice way to vape those citrus, cinnamons etc that cause issues with plastics. It also plays nicely with the glass bottled juice & no plastic chemicals leaching into the carefully/thoughtfully delicious juice.

I haven't filled my ProTank yet but my personal thought is....This is going to one that I keep at home for nice evenings of cocktails & vaping. It is much larger then I expected, quite top heavy & bulky on my batteries. The adapter ring works perfectly on all my Ego batteries. My hubby is going to love the tank size (no refills during his work day). He works running heavy highway construction so he's is in dirt all day...It may get buried but it won't crash & break in soft soil :)

I have been vaping for a little over a year now & things just keep getting better!

PS....Thanks to Orbach for the reviews...those conversations got me looking at the EVOD a few weeks back!

I think it may be because it was designed more for Variable Voltage mods in mind...but that shouldn't stop anyone from using it anyway. I am hoping my Protanks are in the mail when I get home from work as I am excited to try it out. For nights that we get together with friends to have drinks & hang out until the wee hours of the morning, I still will prefer my 7ml pyrex tank as we tend to vape it down pretty hard...but this will be great for every other day of the week.

That does look nice...judging by the size, this will fit perfectly on the top of my Provari & look great too! They hadn't shown up still last night but are supposed to be in the mail this evening. We get really crappy USPS service here...which is why I prefer UPS or FedEx over them anyday. Hell, I will even take Ontrac over USPS & I haven't had the best history with them...although it does seem as though they cleaned up their act lately.
