I boiled mine. The Chinese place that shipped them just threw them into the plastic DHL shipping pouch. It had some sort of dust in the bag. No way I wasn't going to boil them.

An added bonus was that originally, the dripper tips that came with them were a pretty loose fit inside of the bottles. Boiling seems to have shrunk the necks of the bottles just enough to make the tips fit snug.

New bottles I just wash in hot water and dish soap. Old bottles I sometimes soak overnight in hot water and dish soap overnight to clean out lingering flavors. Either way, I typically pour a few ml of PGA into a bottle and shake it for 30 secs or so and drip it out of the tip of the bottle for an extra safe measure and sterilization. Don't want anything bad going on in my mixes, since I normally make enough for it to be able to steep for about a month and be used for about another month.

Empties in plastic container. Add very very hot water. Plus rubbing alcohol. Cheaper than the kind you drink.

Let it all soak for a while. I'll make sure water gets in bottles and rub off labels. Pour out water add fresh plain hot. Swish them dump, rinse in cool water. Then stand on paper towel to dry.

If any have a strong flavor I'll let it soak for at least a few hrs or overnight in rubbing alcohol water
