Since I started vaping I feel better. More energy and less heavy in the chest and no wheezing. For the last two months I was having some really bad problems with smoking (bronchitis) and my doctor told me to stop and gave me an albuterol inhaler. Well I didn't stop. Stupid me. But I did switch to vaping four days ago and that has really helped.

However I have noticed that I now get a strange sensation in my hands and forearms. It's like a pressure. I want to say it feels like high blood pressure but I've never had high blood pressure so I don't know what that is like. But it's more like faint tingling and numbness in my hands. You know how you feel when you hit your funny bone? It's like that, but far less apparent. Opening and closing my hands are a little harder, like the muscles are tight and slightly sore. Every so often I can feel this sensation in my toes as well. But that's very slight and very rare.

I'm not itchy or anything, though I was itchy on the back of the hands the first day.

I'm wondering if anyone else has had these issues.

Yeah I probably should. It does feel like a lack of oxygen to the hands. But it doesn't seem to fit with any other symptoms of low blood pressure.

Generally I'm not that bad off. I'm 30 years old, 6"1', 175lbs, always have a good heart rate (120/80) when I see the doctor and this strange feeling in my arms and hands is only happening when I vape.

as the others said... ask your doc. But as far as the high blood pressure goes you would usually feel that first in your face. your face would start to feel hot and you would get a little red in the cheeks. I sometimes get feeling like that but it's due to sleeping in a bad position or if I fall asleep on the couch for the night. seems to be a pinched nerve.

But yeah, don't listen to me. You know who to ask.

Lack of oxygen will not affect you hands or arm. You are 30 and have to use an inhaler. Is this from smoking or do you have asthma. At 30 I had been smoking 12 years and I didn't have any symptoms at all. You need to see your doctor. This could be symptoms of something wrong with your heart. I don't know how vaping could cause these symtoms.

YOu usually don't have symtoms with high blood pressure that's why they call it the silent killer.

What strength nicotine are you using? Nicotine is a vasoconstrictor and may be interfering with your circulation.

I'm using 11mg. But I came from smoking a pack a day of full flavor Basic 100's and just before that (about a month before) I was smoking full flavor RYO pipe tobacco at a pack a day. The RYO stuff is what got me wheezing with bronchitis and into the doctors a couple months ago where he gave me the inhaler. That stuff is really hard on you. The Basics weren't nearly as harsh and the vapor is wayyy less harsh then the Basics.

But I didn't get this effect on either the Basic 100's or the RYO stuff. So this is definitely a vapor thing. I don't know if it's a side effect of the PG or what. But I doubt it's the nicotine. In fact my new stuff should be in the mail today and it's 24mg. The only reason I started with the 11mg is because that's what I got sent. I forget to specify 24mg when I ordered the first time.

I'll wait till tomorrow and if it keeps up I'll call the doctor.

P.S. I have no idea if it's blood pressure, I was just guessing. I've never had high or low blood pressure so I don't know what it feels like. Just saying my hands feel tingly and weak but the rest of me feels better then I've felt in a long time. Way more energy.

The doctor gave me the inhaler because I was sick with bronchitis at the time and he was concerned about my smoking habit. I wasn't getting enough oxygen. But I was also sick at the time and smoking pipe tobacco like cigarettes so I was doing a lot of wheezing and shortness of breath walking up the stairs. He wanted me to quit and use the inhaler for a month. I didn't. I just switched to Basic 100's and used the inhaler when I felt I needed it. Once I switch from RYO pipe tobacco to Basic 100's I felt a lot better. Now after four days of no smoking and only Vapor I feel even better still. No soreness in my lungs when I breath, no wheezing, and only shortness of breath when I really strain myself like during sex. But that's getting better in the last couple of days. I feel new again, just this tingling pressure in my hands and arms.

Maybe it is my heart. Though I did just see my doctor a month or two ago and my heart was strong and regular with a perfect heart rate. Same a month before that when I was at the doctor.

How long has it been since your last analogue? In the past when I've quit smoking I had the feeling of weird, swollen hands and my face felt strange. I attributed it to having way more blood and oxygen to those areas than I was used to. I can't say whether or not it will happen this time because I'm still going back and forth between analogues and PVs (not for long, though!). And of course (to quote scottjamez), "don't listen to me. You know who to ask."

Just an update guys. As you can probably see this was nearly a month ago. After a couple days I felt fine and it went away. What helped was i switched from 11mg to 24mg. My doctor didn't say anything about it. He didn't even say much about the e-cig when I showed it to him. He seemed fine with it all.

I've been fine ever since. Maybe it was the oxygen returning or the sudden decrease in nicotine level.
