Hello to everyone. I am happy to report that i have been cigarette free for the past two weeks and was loving every minute of it until today. I woke up this morning feeling as if i had smoked a pack of cigarettes the night before. Before i get into more detail let me explain my current setup.

I have a regular 510 battery attached to a ce2 r4 cartomizer. I was vaping a diy mix of 16mg watermelon from lorann oils. The flavouring was set at 18% and the mix is 50/50 pg/vg. I also treat vaping much like how i used treat cigarettes. I dont vape at all when at work, vape for about 10 minutes when i get home, and then chain vape for about 1 hour later in the evening.

This morning though i woke up feeling as if i spent the whole night drinking and smoking. Any idea what it might be. I hope its not due to the flavouring as i am in love with it. Also i have noticed this sensation with other e-liquids ive tried, but im starting to think it might be the pg in the liquid as i usually vape 80-100% vg liquid.

Anytime I have a patient that is describing a pressure or weight in his chest I tell him to Go To Your Doctor. You don't mention how old you are, and it is possible that you are trying to 'drag' too hard on the pv, or it may be the pg, or you may be having a massive heart attack from the nicotine. Let your doctor figure out if that is the case

happened to me too around 2 weeks after stopping tobacco....that's the lungs shedding all that bad tobacco effect from years of smoking !

I certainly hope so, i noticed that up until this point i haven't been coughing anything and today i started coughing up little specks of crap. Its similar to when i quite about a year ago although then it took over a month for me to start coughing.

See a doctor.

And stop using that juice. Where do you get the nicotine? Occasionally a vendor screws up and ships 100% nicotine. Or could you have measured incorrectly? Or over-vaped? Nicotine can cause changes in blood pressure as well as rapid or irregular heartbeat and more. Nicotine can also cause lung irritation. PG lets the irritation of nicotine through better as well as the flavor and TH.

I did not measure incorrectly as I used an e-liquid calculator and made absolutely certain i would not add too much nicotine. The nicotine is set at a base strength of 36mg and it is over a year old, i have kept it in a cool dark place and through reading have found out that over time the nicotine content actually decreases in the bottle so if anything shouldn't the nicotine content be below 36mg base? I doubt i had a nicotine overdose as i have had those before. I did not feel dizzy, have a headache, loss of concentration or anything like that. I went to bed feeling fine and woke up feeling as if i had been smoking all night.

Ill go see a doctor later on this week and see what he has to say. The only culprit i can see is the pg or the flavouring or most likely a combination of the two. I personally hate a pg base juice as it dries my throat out too much and makes me feel as though i have swallowed an apple. The flavourless nicotine however is pg based. I guess ill order some vg based nicotine and see if that makes a difference.

Thanks everyone for the help.

I had the same thing and still get the same thing if I vape waaaaaay too much. Same as you, feel ok when I go to sleep and feel it when I get up. Doesn't sound like you vape a lot but you vape more at one time compared to me.

I'm in agreement with you on the pg. I switched to vg with no pg in it and I feel a lot better for it, especially on my throat.

This is maybe my 7th month and still get an occasional heavy feeling in my lungs and feel a little breathless but it's nothing like when I smoked and every time I know it's because I vaped too much. I only use 6 - 8 mg liquid so it shouldn't be the nic.

I've been to my doctor about it and they found nothing, even an ecg came up with nothing for my heart. Take it easy on the vaping I guess and see your doctor because you never know.

I agree- go see a doctor first and eliminate the worst case scenario-

It could be many things including withdrawal from the other 4000 chemicals....

It could also be VG. Several (myself included) have experienced indigestion and severe heart burn with higher concentrations of VG which may also be the culprit. Some people adjust- others can't tolerate too much VG.

Also, I found it worse with fruit flavors - especially sweet ones like lorann's watermellon, right before going to bed. You might want to cut back a bit on vaping the last hour and drink a ton of water instead.....

Either way, go to a doctor first and let them tell you it's not something more serious.
