Pretty nervous about my ProVari order...I could use some reassurance:)

Wait. If you have something heavy on the Provari and knock it over it can mess the threads up. I had mine in the cup holder in my car and dropped the lid to the console on an atty. The console was behind the cup holder and the Provari was leaning back in the cup holder. It always worked but things would lean to one side after that and some things would even wobble while I took a toke.

Nothing is perfect and I take 100% responsibility for my problem. Just be careful and dont drop it, knock it over, or drop something else on it. Its really a solid unit but things can happen. Cant blame it on the Provari. About to order another one. Nothing can touch it IMO.

Well guys I finally opened up the package today and what can I say...this thing is built like a tank! Very impressive, 510 threading is perfectly str8 (YAHHH), only problem is there is piece of lint/hair behind the LCD screen and it's driving me crazy. ProVape gave me some tips to try to get it out but so far it hasn't worked. I'm going to buy some compressed air tonight and try that, they also told me to try some 99% isopropyl alcohol (about an ounce), poor it inside of the unit with the battery out, swish it around a bit and pour it out and see if that dislodges the hair fiber but I'm worried to do that...can that damage the electronics and cloud up my display window?

It won't damage or cloud anything; make sure to use 99% and not the cheaper/lower grade ones that have more water in them. Make sure the battery is removed. Make sure you let it dry COMPLETELY before powering it up again; perhaps direct a fan to blow air into the battery tube to assist. Alcohol evaporates pretty quickly so it won't take as long as something that got water on/in it.

Having said all that - since your advice came from ProVape, the manufacturer, I would think they wouldn't tell you to do that if there was a risk of damage. ;)

Be sure to let us all know how far back in the Drawer that LT goes after you experience the quality of the Provari :)

Oh I will, I'm interested to see also. If anything, it may stay out simply due to the fact that I chain vape so much the carto, tank end caps and ultimately drip tip get too hot, so I have to have two devices in rotation (and it will be awhile before I can afford a second vari lol)

As requested, here is my followup :)

My 'vari arrived at 3:50pm today, and hasn't left my hand since. (Yes, using the restroom was a little interesting, but I won't go into that here. :D) I am beyond impressed, even though I already had high expectations. This thing is so solid and hefty and sturdy feeling, I have no fear whatsoever of anything happening to it (aside from liquid damage), and the quality of the construction and machining even down to how smooth the endcap screws/unscrews is terrific.

One other thing I wanted to mention that I haven't seen mentioned much is that I really really like the 'action' on the button compared to all other mods/batteries I've ever had. I also like the way it sticks out a little more. The spring tension is perfect. I can easily activate it while holding it by pushing against it with the side of my finger while holding it like a writing utensil (I like holding mine that way instead of having to hold it so I can use my thumb or tip of index finger to directly push down on a button); something I could not do (or do in as ergonomic a way) on my other mods.

I am also thrilled to report that, despite my chain vaping on it like a mad man (new toy syndrome, you know how it is), and not using any other devices in rotation, I did experience the heating up but not nearly as soon as I expected given the length of time I was chain vaping, and setting it down for 1-2 minutes returned it to a state where I could chain vape for another 3-4 minutes! It seems to produce a lot more vapor for me without heating up the carto as quickly, so far as I can tell. I think this is due to the greater control I have (in terms of the vari being spot-on with the voltage I'm selecting; the LTs were giving me who-knows-what, but I suspect more than I asked for given the overheating issues.) This works well for my pattern (normally, when not in new toy syndrome, my chain vaping periods are punctuated by periods of not using it at all, so hopefully it balances out lol.)

Based on the above result, BOTH LT'S ARE INDEED GOING INTO THE DRAWER! I'm going to a week long music festival next month, and plan on bringing them/their batteries as backups just incase the 'vari gets lost or stolen, but other than that they will remain in the drawer, to be loaned to friends who are interested in trying ecigs/mods/that mod specifically or if I'm going to a Water Park :D

This is probably apropos of nothing related to this thread, but what the hell.

My black chrome provari is my beater workhorse. Yeah, I like that much but I've beat it to hell. Use it all the time, goes everywhere. My silver chrome stays nice and warm in it's sleeve for special occasions where it gets treated like a lady and not a ......

So anyway, blackie has been dropped on ceramic several times with scratches resulted. To be expected. I once had a cartomator tank on there with 801 Fusion and adapter. I set it on top of my car while I was fishing for something in my pocket and naturally it fell off the top and hit the pavement and snapped the tank off at the bottom of the 510-801 adapter. I tried re-screwing various 510 atomizers and adapters to it, to no avail. Thought great, I've finally bashed it enough to have to send it into provape. Nothing would thread. But you guessed it, the alum adapter threads had broken off inside the ss provari threads and I just had to use a needle nose pliers to slowly and painstakingly unscrew the bit of alum thread in there and the provari threads were totally undamaged. Happy dance ensued.

Now if only my 11 year old Sony Wega FD Trinitron were behaving as well. I know new TV's are nicer and cheaper but it weighs as much as me and will be a PITA to recycle.

I hear you on that last part. Have a rather large RCA tube based TV (features 720p and Xbox ready lol) that I now have to get help to get out of here and properly disposed.. I am sooo thankful for flatscreen technology!

ATT: "Theblue..."

Do you know where I can find some 99% alcohol? I've tried 4 stores locally and nobody sells it, it's all 70%. I'm guessing online? Also ProVape suggested I get some of those LONGER qtips that are used in hospitals for cleaning skin areas with scrapes and stuff...they are longer qtips and only have the cotton on one side of the qtip...again local stores don't seem to have them either (scratches head.)

Do you by any chance know where online I could buy both things at? I keep having issues with stuff clinging to the LED window and I need to get something down the tube to wipe the screen cover but regular qtip's are not long enough.

Thanks

P.S. Here is a shot of new ProVari (low light to show off the blue led) so sorry it's a bit blurry but it's hard to get the display on and to take a pic before it goes out.

Most pharmacies carry 99% and 70% as well as longer qtips . Where did you try?

Plus one to this, i would be shocked if your local walgreens or CVS or equivalent didn't have both the alcohol and qtips. If all else fails I got immediate hits on amazon for both.
