I tried a second source vendor. The company is call Sculpteo. I tested out a single model print that had all the parts grouped into one model. The results were very nice. :) Pricing overall seems to be slightly better than Shapeways for grouped parts and much better for Alumide and unpolished WSF. This is a WSF Polished model. I think the quality of the print speaks for itself. For some reason, the parts feel more dense. I put all four button options into a test model. Here is what I received. I still need to go through each part and measure but from just eyeballing and dry fitting the parts, I am very impressed. Manufacturing is in France , but UPS shipping took only 3 days. Total time from placing the order was 11 calendar days. I'll put a link to this model up later today.

I am not sure, that's up to you.

I only have the one full model v3.1 at Sculpteo. I really just wanted to see what their quality was. I also have no idea what the relative pricing will be if I mirror the same shapeways models at the new vendor. I have only received one unit from them, so I cant say that they will consistently produce the same quality that I received either. I also have no idea about their colors or alumide. And I cant find any guarantees on their printing like Shapeways has. They just said if you dont like your model, they will address it.

So if anyone wants to test out Sculpteo, I'll can set up full part models for both the DNA BF v3.1 and the Peko v1.1. Basically it will be an "all in one" model and they will come will all button options and a thin ring. That means that you wont be able customize different materials/colors for different parts. Uploading and setting up individuals part is going to take quite a bit of time.

Ok thanks gdeal. Anyway I will keep my shapeways parts for a while. Maybe I get a discount who knows. I definitely mix up the parts so I will wait.

Gdeal I prefer to wait. Anyway shapeways are out for 3 weeks as mundy stated. So in the meantime maybe you will be able to judge on the quality and materials of the other vendor and start upload models one by one?

go get the white already! ;) somebody gotta be first! :D
and then you can try the swirling and hydropainting methods

I have already a white in my hands :D. this is for my second one. I'm just waiting on you to build my first one. I have the dna30 but now I'm confused whether to wait for the dna40 or not.

Sure...no problem....I just need to upload 16 different models including the Mechanical. And I am also going to upload models that have all the parts in one place. (so thats another six models) I still need to double check everything, but I think the all-in-one model approach may shave a couple dollars off the total vs getting them on an individual basis. Now I need to get busy....
