Sorry to be a pita, but honestly I'm scared to Fcuk up this board. Does the fire button need to be removed for clearance?
What should I do you only remove the Mechanism so I don't have to run jumpers across the contacts?
Thanks!

You carefully cut the 4 legs off at the base.

With the new dna 40 if you remove the whole fire switch you will need a jumper
it is best to just remove the top of the switch and not cut it off the board like we did with DNA 30's

DNA30 or DNA40? On the 30, you can remove the switch and be done. On the 40, the switch also acts as a jumper and you'd have to resolder some tiny wires in its place, so it's better to gut the switch, which is actually easier and less risky to the board.

The switch does not need to be removed for clearance per se, it needs to be removed (or gutted) to prevent unintended firing when squonking hard.

Thank you so much, what was just said was what I had previously read a couple different places and I want to obviously do as little work, and risk, as possible. Thanks for the pics.
If I were to just leave it on there, it would work fine with the remote fire button also installed correct? But it's that close to the bottle that if may fire it accidentally?

I just used a safety pin to free it from the clips and magnifiers so I could see what I was doing. You can leave it on and still use a "remote" tact switch. But as Rossum posted, the wall of the juice bottle will rest against it and may cause the on-board tact to fire with an aggressive squonk. So the recommendation for this mod is to remove it.
