jeez, and you guys didn't even think to invite me...
i see how it is
How about a SE PA GTG (build party?) either the first or the last weekend in September?

It happened very last minute. ....you missed a good lunch and Rossum treated....
Thanks Rossum..it was great to meet you!
It was my pleasure to meet the guy who's spent countless hours designing this mod and making that design available to anyone who wants to build it. My hat is off to you, sir!

Nah. I'd have to discuss the purchase with my wife before I bought that. I'm sure she'd be OK with it if I really wanted it, but to me there's little point in buying something I'd never actually use. I've got a sterling silver Zippo that I've had for many years -- never used it once -- not sure why the heck I bought it.

Yea Rossum is that world traveler type of guy....he pops in unexpected and then poof he is back on a plane to sunnier and more humid climates. Glad to do a build get together thing too....
Actually this trip was an exception -- I tend to drive up and down the east cost more often than flying. In fact, this trip was the first time I've flown since I started vaping back in December.

Now in September, I gotta go to Germany for a trade show and I clearly can't drive there, and in November, I might be going to Vegas for another trade show, which would also be more driving than I'd really care to do.

Guys....I am updating the v3.1 internals. The change does not have any effect on operation, assembly or fit with other existing printed parts.

The only part on the hardware list that will change is the magnet. Currently, its a 1/4" magnet, it now will be a 3/16". It doesnt effect any of the function of the device, just the amount of pull required to get the top cap off (slightly less pull required). If you have the 3.1 internals already, use the 1/4" magnet.

K&J Magnetics - Products

After today, this is the magnet to use.

K&J Magnetics - Products

The new internals are less complex and will have less thinner walled structures and the three internal parts will assemble more easily. I am making this change at this time because Shapeways went to new system and every time a print of this part is made, they send out annoying emails that the dimensions are at the threshold of their guaranteed spec, etc...

Here is what the new center frame looks like:
