Today I placed an order for 2 complete mods from Sculpteo, what a great price! Just about $20 less than sw per unit . PLUS they should be here by the 27th :)

THANK YOU SO MUCH gdeal for taking the time and effort to get us a better price :)

Wow, 12 days and cheaper? I would have been perfectly happy if it had come in more expensive if the wait time from order to delivery is cut by around half.

Sculpteo just cancelled both pieces. Apparently neither can be ordered in Alumide as a single piece.

Same here:

It has come to our attention that the following item 'dna v3.1 All Parts - Alps Tact - Low Button - Thin Ring (Alumide)' can not be printed due to a issue with your 3D file.
Reason: model composed on several parts
Description: Only 1 object per 3D file when printing in Alumide

I didn't catch that part until you mentioned it. I wasn't really bothered until I saw that. That's pretty lame. Why would they list it as an option?

You're right. I would hope an email would resolve it and result in a refund. If they didnt comply I would dispute it with PP or the CC company, I am sure either would back us up on this one.

Personally, I am going to wait until I see the quality of the SWF prints. If I like the quality then I dont mind having a store credit stashed away.

Sent an email asking for more details. Will report anything interesting that I find out.

Ok...minor bump with Sculteo. They treat Alumide differently than the other Plastic materials. Apparently, you cant group parts together for Alumide. It makes no sense, but they make the rules. Fortunately, their pricing on Alumide is much better than Shapeways, so if anyone wants an Alumide version, they will need to get the parts separately.

I uploaded the separate part models for the v3.1, however, you loose some of the discount for the the multi part models, (buttons and rings get hit hard) but alumide overall ordered in separate parts is still way cheaper than Shapeways:) I also put up a looped and sprued model specifically for Alumide on the Full Internal Assembly. I would consider it a Beta unit, because Sculpteo may not allow that either. Not many people really get Alumide for internals, but I thought I would uploaded it anyway just incase some one wants to try it out.

Still working on separate parts for the mechanical.....

I think these are great and your awesome! I have been a fan for a while and I'm getting ready to pull the trigger! Is the parts list on sw the most up-to-date list of all assorted required parts? Is there any way to do it besides ordering from all the different vendors? Also has anyone used the newest version of Fd's 510 connector?
Thanks, I appreciate all the time you've spent!
