Pro tank disintegrated

A Protank 2 screws on the base and isn't glued. While I can see the gasket o ring thingie (<--- technical term, natch!) breaking down I don't see the tank itself falling apart like that.

I don't know about the mini, though.

There are 2 versions that I would recommend for your cinnamons. Protank 1.5 (glue free) and Pro Tank2 - also glue free with swapable DT. My original pro tank separated like yours due to the glue weakening. I saved the parts mainly to have an extra base for my PT2's.

And I always gripped by the base when unscrewing...just because it seemed logical an prudent to do so. This is an authentic protank 1.

I will say this...the glass was cockeyed on the base from day one. So maybe it was compromised from the beginning.

my protank mini original version came apart last night,i thought it was because it was accidentally knocked over, the glue did come loose in it also,and i don't do cinnamon or any of those.

The Full size protank 2 doesn't unscrew like the smaller one does with the cone threading. I have a full size one and mine doesn't come apart like the smaller one does. I have tried so that I can clean it better. Good Luck

Full size Protank 2 DOES come completely apart. It's Clone however Does Not.
Same with the Mini's.
I have both - Kanger and Clone.

Yeah, I have the real deal Protank 2 and it comes completely apart as intended. No glue anywhere.

You mentioned it being on the seat of your truck. Was it hot that day, and was the device in sunlight? Glass and metal expand and contract at different rates when subjected to heat/cold extremes. Borosilicate ("Pyrex") glass is engineered to resist thermal expansion or breakage from heat, which is why it's so popular as kitchenware.

What could have happened is that once the glue got worked over by the cinnamon, the metal base expanded in the heat and broke the seal with the glass.

Naw, I don't leave it in there. I had left work and was driving home home. Suddenly the coil floods big time so I set it down in the passenger seat for the remainder of the trip and it just fell apart, leaking juice everywhere.

You beat me to it. Was just about to mention it. Heat softens glue, tank comes apart. Happened to a friend of mines protank.

I'll throw in a recommendation for a Protank II also. No glue, the whole thing disassembles and the pyrex is held in place with simple o-rings. I wasn't that big of a fan of the Protank I but the II really is pretty awesome.

after looking things over on my mini,it wasnt that the glue had failed fro any kind of juice,the glue just came loose i guess from being shock loaded by falling over. these pieces are glued together,and i think the problem with them is 2 very smooth surfaces with nothing basically for the glue to adhere to.the tank is glass,the inside of the metal collar is very smooth finished. design problem i think.at least for us that perhaps may knock stuff over or drop em. used a 2 part epoxy and let it cure for over 24 hours so it should be good to go.if it happens again ill rough up both pieces and see if that cures it.

If i remember correctly from the other thread, you have a Puritank.

My Protank one started to come apart (glass and casing) after about three months, and then completely came apart after I dropped it on the cement. Three months with almost every day use is a good run IMO for something like the Protank, but I think the Protank II which I just put into service should last a little longer.

Well that's nice. Had this for maybe three weeks. Laid it down in the seat of my truck and the whole glass tank just came right off the base. Had a full tank too.

I'm guessing my juice ate away at the glue. It looks all chewed up. I thought that was why one bought an expensive tank like this. That was $23 wasted. Going to see if vendor will replace it.

get a tatroe all stainless steel tank(cigtech). nothing you put in will effect it at all- looks good ,also. vaportek has a Chinese all stainless version for less money but it doesn't look like the tatroe and i'm sure it is not as well made.

Am I the only one that would be worried about inadvertently vaping this glue if it breaks down with certain juices?

didn't get the whole play by play what happened, but it was on the seat and it fell apart, so he didn't say he then tried to vape it.
maybe it just hot and gooey and oozed apart -yuk
