ive been using my protank for almost 2 weeks now and started getting a bad gurgle juice in my mouth and a leak. i was trying to figure out what the deal was and i remembered when i first started using it i kept it full and it never got about half way. i was at a dance hall when i started getting insane amounts of juice in my mouth so i tried blowing it out threw the bottom and realized all my juice is gone. yay.... i come to realize when the tank gets low its starts to gurgle and juice gets in your mouth so now you half to keep it some what full. is this a draw back? yes!:( 100% although it preforms good and the juice tastes good, once you hit that low point and start to get a little gurgle you have to fill it back up to avoid it. its sad that a nice tank like this cant go through a full tank, it just cant. unless theres another fix that allows you to vape a whole tank with no gurgle or leak, but i think its more of a design issue. so if you have a gurgling pro tank just fill it back up, you might have a little gurgle but it will go away at least with my experience. i hope this helps yall that have one.:D:vapor:

I was given the same tip and it has worked quite well for me. Here are a couple I figured out for myself:

If you slide a q-tip up the center tube when you fill the Protank, it will block the hole completely and no juice will get in it.
Paper reinforcers are brilliant for reducing air flow.

Don't blow into bottom-fed tanks! When you do that, you blow juice out of the bottom of the tank. Also, if you've fiddled with the flavor wicks at all, make sure they are entirely inside the tank, and no getting into the threads. I had the same problem, so I did what I've always done with top coil tanks and blew the flooded juice out. But in a bottom-fed tank, it just keeps sucking juice into the stem and blowing it out the bottom. If you get gurgling like that, run a Q-tip through the shaft, and it that doesn't fix it, take it apart, wipe off the threads, and make sure the wicks aren't getting caught in the thread when you put it back together.

does the q-tip method work to avoid the gurgle when your low on juice?thanks for the tip ill definitely do the q-tip method but i love the air flow and got used to it i know alot of ppl dont like it but i do, when i vaped out of my vivi nova the draw was alot harder than the pro tank!

i realized that after i did it:?: it wasnt the wicks getting in the way i think its a design flaw. i always wipe everything down before puting the tank back together. and the wicks on the pro tank are super short.

I had this problem with my Protank. I know the wicks are super short, but when you take the flavor wicks off to clean it, you've most likely messed them up a little. If you put them back on, and the tiniest strand got stuck in the threads, it will wick liquid into the shaft, causing gurgling. My Protank will from from full to dry without gurgling at all. You just have to make sure the threads are dry, and the wicks are completely clear when you put it back together. I've had no problems since.

even when the tank got low on juice?

Yeah...this isn't a design flaw at all. I think you're jumping to conclusions. It is most likely a case of user error. What's probably happening is that your wicks are getting old. They don't last forever. That's why they sell replacement heads.

I vape mine from full to empty every time I use it. When it is time to change heads I know it 'cause I start getting gurgling and leaking. This usually happens right around the two week mark, which is where you're at.

Or two days, depending on who you ask. The important thing is that the heads don't last forever. In fact, they don't really last all that long. A pack of 5 replacement heads (Protank or EVOD heads will both work) costs about $6 US. When you get down to 1 or 2 heads, order another pack of 5. To make them last a bit longer, you can clean and dry-burn the coil, and then ditch the flavor wicks entirely, or replace them with a bit of twisted cotton. I just pull a bit off a cotton ball, twist it into a wick, and put it in where the flavor wick used to be. It works just as well.

And make sure you're cleaning your wick and coil every two tank-fulls or so. The can get a bit gunked up which keeps the coil from vaporizing the juice and will cause gurgling.

I use the q-tip when I'm filling the tank. Flip the tank over, unscrew the base, slide the q-tip up from the bottom (through the mouth piece) until it blocks the hole, then fill with juice. The q-tip is just so no juice goes down the center when you're filling it.

I don't always use the reinforcers, it depends on the device. Some don't need restricted airflow and some do (for me). What I like is they are cheap, the perfect size, and can are quite thin. I can layer them to suit my needs.

Hi

You are correct, except for the terminology. I've seen this confusion around a lot lately, since "Bottom Coil" devices like the Protank, EVOD, various Kangers are the hot toys. A bottom coil is a string wick system, similar to other toppers like the Vivi Nova, only upside-down if you will; the heating element is at the bottom instead of the top.

A "Bottom-Feeder" is a different device completely. This is a bottom-feeder:

Fair enough. But I think those of us who don't know the difference probably aren't ever going to have to ask this sort of question. One of the many benefits of ignorance. :)

I'm sorry, I hope I didn't come off as snotty. I was just trying to get the difference posted. There are often posts where people want to get a "bottom feeder" and it can take a page or two to realize they want a Protank or vice-versa.

I can understand the frustration. I feel the same way when people refer to Senators as "Congressman." They're not the same thing. At WORST, this was just the wrong thread to make the distinction. But no offence taken whatsoever. :)
