Okay, so I now have 5 Kanger Pro tanks. I obviously really like them, but I have noticed something odd with the packaging. The first 3 I bought a Vape Dojo for 19 bucks a piece. They came in a really nice box that was almost like a jewelry box with nice padding on the inside. Today I was at a place called BmoreVapes. I guess they are a brick and mortar. They sell online, but they have a store in a local flea market. They were running a special today and selling the Pro tank for 15 bucks, so I got two more. These were just in cheap cardboard boxes. The tanks look and perform the same. Did kanger change the packaging at some point? Is one kind possibly a knock off? Is it really worth someone's time to knock off a PV tank?

There seems to be 2 types of packaging now.. Here is an online vender selling the cardboard packaging.. Courtesy of VaporJoes...

Kangertech ProTank

They are the first I've seen. I do not know if they are going to switch all of them to this new cheaper packaging or offer both. I was going to wait to buy one for a week or two, but I saw this and pulled the trigger on one of the ones with the gift box just in case they do away with it entirely. I wanted to have at least one of the gift boxes if it ended up being a limited run...

It does seem that they will be coming down in price with this new packaging though.. Carolina Vapes is actually higher priced on their products than most sites.. $10 for a EVOD for petes sake.. I figure that once other places like DiscountVapors or MyVaporStore get them in this new packaging the should come down to $13...

Ravensfan- We probably passed each other at BmoreVapes on Sunday. I bought mine there too Sunday afternoon. I went in my box of stuff and found the box from the vapeonly mega BCC. You are right; the box appears to be exactly the same except for the image of the number of heads. On the box for the Protank it even shows a removable mouthpiece the same shape as the one on the BCC. The text on how to use it is also the same for both. I, too, now wonder if they are knockoffs but find it hard to believe there would already be fakes made of pyrex. On the other hand, after just a few days the silver on the tip where it rests against my lips already seems to have lost its luster and now feels rough. Another oddity is that I bought a battery labeled EVOD. It looks like the Kanger Evod batteries with the very flat button inset into the main body but when comparing it to pictures on Kanger's site, I noticed that on mine the EVOD logo is written all in caps unlike the ones on Kangers site which has E-vod mix of caps and small and a dash. HMM.

All our products are genuine we are one of the only shops in MD that stock's a large selection of real genuine products. Kanger, Joytech, Smoke tech, Vision, Boge, SLB, Innoken and the list goes on. We was the first store in MD with Joytech Evic's.

Kanger new run of Protanks come in the cardboard box and then in a 10 pack carton. This helps on the international shipping cost. Our first 100pc order of Protanks in the gift box cost us $189 shipping. Our 200pc order in the Cardboard Box Cost only $130 shipping.

The Kanger Evod battery is genuine its 1000mah. This happens all the time with manufactures they are using the older photo's of there first run prototypes on there website.

If you compare our product to all the major suppliers you will see this to be true.

I know we are in the flea market but that does not mean we sell knockoffs. I know some B&M that's been selling clones as the real thing. Then people come to use and find out that its not genuine this happens a lot.

We have a lot of good vendors in the area and our goal is to be one of the best. So please don't judge a book by its cover.

The box is nice in which I have to pay for the box itself and it is not a cheap box when comparing the price of Protanks that is selling right now in cardboard. So the Protank first came out in the box series as it looks elegant and nice. But most likely Kanger changes its strategy and went to cardboard to be competitive. It makes sense to me.

I can't vape the nice box. It is only good for display purpose. I hear you BMV.

Just so there is no misunderstanding or hard feelings: Regardless of packaging, my protank from BmoreVapes is working great as well as the battery. Regardless of branding and packaging, I don't care as long as it works. And a shout out to Corn ( and the new woman working there- forgot her name) for their great service and patience. I think the suppliers are just a bit lazy and not as attuned to small details such as updating images on their packaging to reflect the correct item. I did think it odd that they used the same image as the megabcc as I thought those were made by a completely different company but who knows how it works over there.
