I have the same problem and I cleaned mine thoroughly before using them. I think some of us are just more sensitive to metallic taste. There are other threads on here discussing this issue. I'm going to try using one of the plastic shields that you put over your drip tip when you want to let someone else try your PV and see if that helps. I think that after the Protank is broken in a bit, the metallic taste will fade. At least I really hope so since I like everything else about the tank.

You aren't imagining it. It isn't from lack of cleaning. It's real, but seems to only affect some users who are more sensitive to tasting metallic tastes. :(

According to my friend, if you're using very citrusy types of juices it becomes more apparent. He cleaned his out immediately after he took it out of the box, but the taste with those kinds of liquids still brings out the metallic flavor. I'll tell him to try one of the plastic shields to see if that helps. Everything he's tried up to now hasn't worked. I've got 2 coming this Tuesday with 10 replacement heads and MBV cinnamon roll. I'll wash them out before using and see if I get better results than he did. Thanks for the tip about the plastic shields.

I know it has a weird ... smell from the box that it comes in, that box smells like .......i didnt use mine for a few days and kept washing it to get rid of that smell...i dont remember if it was metallic or not. but sometimes the mouthpiece i taste since it is a chrome or steel mouthpiece. maybe its just the mouthpiece you are getting the taste from...try covering it with something and see if you still taste it...just wrap it in a paper towel so your lips arent touching the metal so you can see lol

lol no its gotta be something else. I've washed the tank in detergent to get rid of it, its still stinks like burnt aluminum foil.i switched the heads to and rinsed the new head and wicks for 5 minutes, still stinks. i mean i get no flavor, just metal. Its unusable. I thought it wasn't wicking because my juice was all vg with a bit of water, so i filled it with 80% pg and let it wick over night, hit it about 20 times to pull juice in, no flavor, just metal and vapor.

Anybody else get a tinny, aluminum taste when vaping from a pro tank? Or know how to fix it?

Yep, I washed mine thoroughly in PGA before use and several times after trying to rid it of the overpowering metallic taste, switched heads multiple times, same metallic taste. I used 3 different tobacco flavors no citrus, fruits or sweets involved.
In the trash it went just like all the other new and improved / next best devices.

if you still have the little rubber cap that was over the mouthpiece when you got the thing you could just cut the closed end of that off so its a tube and slide it back on.

It comes with a rubber cap over the mouth piece? Well shoot problem solved. I'll try it on Tuesday when I get mine. I'll give results with it on and without it. Thanks for letting me know this. :)
