You are probably sensitive to metals. I have an issue with Aluminum. the top is what you are tasting and possibly smelling. Vinegar won't hurt anything and after a good rinse will subside. That will not help with the taste on your lips from the tip.
You may have to fashion a sleeve to the tip so your lips do not come in contact.

Okay, so I took the rubber condom thingy that comes on the drip tip of the protank and I cut the top completely off so the rubber fits perfectly around the drip tip without obstructing the air hole and it is so much better. I no longer taste metal and I'm happy, happy, happy. The flavor is finally coming through and I'm getting lots of lovely vapor. I don't know if this solution will work for everyone who is having this problem, but it is working for me.

And close off one of those airholes!
It is a shame to spend $18 on a tank and have to stick plumbers tape in the hole just so you can get a decent vape out of it.
Before I sealed off one of the holes I just vaped mostly air with each draw.

Ya hear that, Kanger?

Give us replaceable drip tips already!

No need to use tape and gimmick up ur Pro Tank.

Use an Evod replacement head if you wanna tighten up the draw. Also use the evod smaller center pole insert.

Problem solved.

I would actually like to see that the tanks have an adjustable air flow, replaceable tips and make them a little taller to hold 3mls of juice. Also measurement lines on the side would be nice, but not absolutely necessary.

Best post on this thread.

I agree entirely.

For a $20 system, I expect adjustable air flow, and replaceable drip tips.

If they would just include those 2 things on the kanger pro tank, I think very few things would rival it.

I am also getting the metallic taste. The first time I washed my pro tank, a few metal shavings came out. Just yesterday, on my second wash, a few more came out (really, really tiny ones) that I apparently missed. I'm pretty sure I got them all now.

I've only had the pro tank for about 10 days or so, and I haven't tried anything else besides washing to get rid of the metallic taste yet. I'm going to wash w/ white vinegar and see how that goes.

If I can't get this terrible metallic taste out, its a deal breaker for me :( A shame, since I otherwise like the pro tank so much.

$20 isn't a lot for a tank.
It looks nice, but the flavor is bland. I have the same juice from the same bottle in an evod with the same type head as the pro tank and the evod tastes better. I barely can taste the juice in the pro tank. I suspect, that it has something to do with the design. I'm guessing with stronger juices it would taste reasonable, but this vanilla custard is just not working in it.

I could not taste my juice either! My t3 has great flavor on my builds. Using all vg with 10% water plus 10% flavor. I was getting dry hits/ metallic coil burn, and flooding. Was going back and forth notched cup seal, removed wicks, flooded/ gurgles more. Again with dry hit. Noticed it was dry unscrewed the base till a good amount of bubbles came up and bam I tasted my juice. Well I run my t3 loose. This is how I run my protank and would you believe it, it doesn't flood or gurgle! Try it.

I even have the cup completely off and unscrewed 2 turns! If it is upright most the day it runs perfectly! It will gurgle/ flood I left on its side too long. So try this! Unscrew till you see some bubbles if not enough flavor unscrew more for more bubbles. You'll find a sweet spot. I added Teflon to the base threads to make it tighter. You now have juice control on the protank tighten or loosen as needed. tighten when Laying on side for extened time.

Serious no cup seal unscrewed 1-2 turns depending. I can taste my juice and it doesn't flood. Runs better than it ever did before. Oh the tip is a rubber 801 whistle drip tip from an old echo cut the whistle tip off fits perfect. Only did that for comfort so it doesn't hit my teeth.
