Probably a dumb battery question...

I couldn't find the answer in the battery thread, and am a little confused.

I ordered my Chuck, and ordered this battery set in order to vape at 6v: LINK From what I understand, I would put two of these batteries in the Chuck.

But, in order to vape at 3.7v, I only need one 18650 battery?

My  is... If the Chuck can fit two of those bigger batteries, but can also be used with only one of the other batteries, what happens to the extra space inside the Chuck when using only one battery? I'm imagining a flashlight - if you only put one battery in a flashlight that takes two batteries, one battery alone would rattle around. Or am I just confused about the whole process?

Does my question make sense? (It's late... lol)

Thanks so much in advance for clearing my head...

in the chuck you can use the cr 123 a batterys 2 of them or 1 18650batterys for 3.7 volts lawnman3 :cool::cool:

Ok... I got that part right :) I guess my question would be... is one 18650 battery as big as two cr123s? If you're only using one battery as opposed to two batteries, isn't there empty space inside the device?

Yes, it's as big as the 2 cr123s, not much empty space at all! :)

For anyone that cares...
Battery numbers will tell you the size (most of the time).
if you break the number down to xxyyz,
xx=diameter yy=length z=shape

So an 18650 is 18mm diameter, 65mm long and the 0 means cylindrical
a 16340 (aka cr123) is 16mm diam. 34mm long. So when you stack two 16340's you get 68mm length, so they are just a tad longer than an 18650.

I know this is kind of an unnecessary post, but I just thought I'd throw it out there. Some may find it interesting. (I did when I first learned of this)

Thanks, highping. I found it interesting and helpful. I know virtually nothing about batteries but I suppose it's time to learn.

I only ordered the 18650s but now I'm thinking I should get the smaller ones too as Beecee did.

That is interesting, I didn't know that! But then until now, in my mind a battery was a battery was a battery... :)

I've been setting up my nursery, too... they need to make a "baby shower registration" on the site
