Another reason is that if your 5 volt mod has a regulator, some of them shut off due to an over-current protection. If you put an LR atty on some 5 volt mods, they shut off and won't work till you disconnect everything then start again with a stock atty.

So maybe playing around with the atty reduced its resistance in some way and took it down to 2 ohms or less. That would mean it draws more current, and causes the regulator to shut down.

You could maybe check the atty with a meter. Without a meter it's hard to diagnose anything.
