Since this is the only section I can post in, I guess I'll have to ask here... Started having problems with my 510 PCC today. I've had it for about a month, and it's worked fine. But today I started having issues with it. The top LED would blink if I shook it, then later on today it just went out. If I pushed the battery in by hand it would light up, but not if I just closed the cover. But shortly after that even when I pushed it in by hand it wouldn't light up.

Any one else have this problem? Is this something I can fix myself, or should I try to return it to where I got it?

Take a q--tip and dip it in rubbing alchohol and stick in down in the battery hole of the PCC and clean the bottom of the PCC contact and the bottom of the battery hole. e-liquid has build up in there and no current is flowing from the battery charger to the battery.

Tried it, no change. batteries work fine with regular charger.

I have been told that there is a generation of 510 PCC's out there where the battery receptacle is bonded into the housing with a "soft" adhesive. And this may allow the receptacle to slide down, making for inconsistent (or no) contact with the battery.

If this is your case, then you can either try to open it up and repair it.... or pitch it and get a new one.

I got my PCC off a dealer for free for this same issue. If you push down with your finger a few minutes later, does it light up and charge? I know if you push down, let it back up, then push right back down it wont necessarily work. But if it is actually working, you just need to add some little plastic pieces to the lid to hold the battery down further in the PCC. Test them first without gluing them, then when you have enough to activate the charging, but not too much that the lid is visibly strained, glue away!

Red Dog--then you got a dud there and need to return it as that is the only fix known.

I was afraid of that... I tried taking it apart myself, doesn't appear that any wires have become disconnected. I just hate using $25 worth of gas and three hours of driving to where I bought it and back home again. Especially since I paid $30 for the PCC.

It seems you got a bad PCC, like I did. I decided not to buy another one and opted for the 510 megabatteries. One megabattery lasts all day. I do carry two in my pocket for emergencies. And another at home to insure a freshly charged batt for the evening.

HTH,
Dave

Does the mega battery really last that much longer? I go through 4 or 5 of the standard batteries per day. Which is why I got the PCC. I also picked up a USB pass through to plug in when I'm in my car or at my computer.

I suppose you could say I'm a heavy vaper. :D But I haven't had an analog since the day I started vaping.

That worked. You just saved me three hours of driving.

Well, I work 8 hours a day in a place where no smoking is allowed. And out of politeness I try not to vape either--at least not much :)

Details: I vape about half a batt in the morning when I get up; I take a freshly charged batt out the door with me and most of the time it lasts till I get off work. I come home where two batts are usually enough for the evening.

I carry two spares in my pocket during the day. I could live with one spare, though I also like to be heavily protected from my fumble fingers :)

I got five or six megabatts and don't use them all. Everyone of them worked right out of the box and have lasted a couple of months so far.

FYI: After looking at many alternatives for extended times away from electric, as in camping, I've decided to get the "Chuck" battery mod. I don't have any experience with it yet. I probably will next year.

I keep saying that I'm going to do it.. and I swear that I really am. I'm pretty confident that I can make a modification to the 510 PCC so it will accept the Mega battery.. and even have the lid close. Of course, I realize that the PCC won't be able to charge the Mega batteries as many times as it can a standard. But two or maybe three times would be fine.
