I got this GP 510 passthru couple of weeks ago and can not seem to get any vapor out. When I first got it I tried it out and thought it needed to charge, maybe it has a battery. I let it stay plugged in the usb port a while and tried again. I got a few sporatic puffs then nothing. Needs more charging I guess. I decided to give it another try so I plugged it in again this A.M. and left it. I tried using it again just now and nothing. My VK passthru works fine on both usb ports I am using, this one works on neither. I tried it on a different computer and still nothing. Is there something else I am supposed to be doing? Is there a battery that is not charging properly?

dlb,

Not sure what the voltage is on the VK is, but the GP510 is a straight 3.7v

It also is only a PT, and no inline battery.
You would have to have it plugged in at all times while using.

Please let us know if this corrects the problem:)

I believe the VK is 5 volts. I didn't even try to use the 510 unplugged. It was always connected to the usb port. Trying it again now plugged in the usb port. Nothing...and I did try different, known to work, cartos.

I wanted to try the 510 because the VK is "hotter" than I like at times.

Yes it is possible that it is not making contact.

I would try to pull out the contact of the carto.
If it doesnt work with the first or second carto, then the PT might be defective.
3.7v and 5v are totally different, but you should still be getting good vapor.

You saying the sporadic puffs kinda threw me off.

If you have a meter check the voltage reading on it with the button pressed. That will tell you if it's the passthrough or the connection. Some of them you can use a screwdriver in the center post to turn it up to a higher position.

OK. I got a meter and tested. On the VK on both usb ports I get about 5.06 volts. On the 510 I get about -4.62 (negative) on both ports. Not good, eh?

I had to work too much the last couple of days, I mean nights, so I did not have time to play with this. I am off tonight so I can stay up a little while. I just got home and tried again. I messed with center post on a carto and pulled it out a little, I think. Now I have 1 carto working on the 510. I am trying to get another going now. Is there any easy way to get the posts on the cartos to come out further or to get the passthru connector to get closer to the carto connection?

Unless you know what you are doing, I wouldnt mess with a washer,
that there could short our your USB port or possibly crash a PC.
(I have no clue)

You could try pulling it out with a refill tool or toothpick, paper clip.

But I will say that if you get frustrated or dont want to put this time into it,
I can send you a new one, and test it to make sure everything is fine.

I put the carto that was working on my GP 510 passthru on my regular 510. It must have pushed the carto post back up to the normal position. Now I can not get that carto or any of my others to make contact. The distance can't be more than 1 millimeter. If I could get the center contact of the passthru to come up just a short distance I think it would work fine. As it is, it is producing no vapor at all. A little frustration is beginning to setting in.
