I got an SVD yesterday with a couple 18650 batteries and a Efest Luc Multifunction Smart Charger. I got the batteries and charger from ebay. I put the batteries in the charger and both of them charged to 4.2v within a few hours. I put one in the SVD and when I went to fire it the fire button blinked red and I got the 'Lov' error message. I also noticed when I checked the battery on the SVD it read 4.6v.

Do I need to charge the batteries longer since this is the first time using them? Are the batteries I ordered the right type of battery? Heres a link to the batteries I ordered. Hope it doesnt violate any TOS.

The SVD is telescopic, so make sure you are screwing the tube all the way in, so everything is snug and the battery is making contact.
Does the problem happen with both batteries? if so, do you have other device to test your batteries on?
The battery should never read 4.6 volts, what you may be reading is the voltage output.

He wouldn't get a display on the LCD screen if the battery wasn't making contact.

It's either going to be a case of the battery turned around the wrong way or a failure in the SVD. Unfortunately, the odds are it will be a failure of the SVD, which is not uncommon.

Hopefully the OP bought the SVD locally so he can return and exchange it today.

"LoV" means low voltage. That should mean that the battery is below enough charge to power the SVD.

However, you said you checked the battery voltage with the SVD and it read 4.6 volts. A fully charged battery should only be 4.2 volts. If the battery is truly charged to 4.6 volts that's way too high. Something's not right here.

Are you sure you didn't read the voltage setting for your SVD by mistake? Make certain you are in the correct mode.

The AW IMR 1600mAh batteries are the right type of battery for the SVD. However, the AW IMR 2000 mAh would have given you more battery time per charge.

My guess - batteries and possibly the charger are your issue. Read the seller's feedback even just back to April first, "Fake AW Batteries!!" "Sent fake batteries, never refunded me & stopped answering my messages. AVOID!" "this guys a joke! stay away! save yourself from BS."

Poor quality batteries will not perform properly. Always purchase from a reputable vendor like RTD and always avoid eBay on these.

Its happening with both batteries. When I hold the '+' or '-' button for 3 seconds it reads 4.6. Thats the voltage of the battery, right? Thats what it says in the manual.

Im in wattage mode and when I hold down the '+' or the '-' button for 3 seconds it reads 4.6. I was a little confused on how the insert the batteries as the manual states to insert the battery with '-' end in first and '+' end out towards the battery cap. When I did that it didnt turn on. I flipped the battery around and it turned on. I have a VV V3 so im familiar with the Itaste menu system. The SVD menu feels very similar.

I may have learned my lesson on this. I do have another battery arriving today from a reputable online vape store so I should have more info later this afternoon.

I am wondering if your charger may be the problem. If it over charged your battery's to 4.6V the SVD might be reading that as stacked battery's. This would certainly cause your LoV error as that is way to low of a voltage to fire from stacked battery's. You should try and get a hold of a Multimeter to confirm the voltage of the battery is 4.6v. If a DMM reads them in the 4.2V range you will know that the SVD is reading them wrong and is defective. If it reads them at 4.6V it is time for a new charger and battery's.

Note: Before you switch between one battery and two batteries configurations, please hold the “ ” button for 5 seconds to release the remaining power in the circuit board. (when you make a switch from one battery to two batteries, the circuit board will keep the single battery settings if you haven’t released the remaining capacity; and vice versa.)

I doubt this will help, but worth a try.

You're reading the SVD wattage setting. Nothing at all to do with the battery. (And that's a very low wattage setting as well)

The SVD adjust's wattage in .5 increments , it's impossible to get a reading of 4.6 watts on it , the OP is doing the correct procedure to read remaining battery voltage , my money is on bad batteries .

Do your batteries read 4.6 when on your LUC charger? It has a voltage readout.

no, its reading 4.2. Im starting to find some info about the charger and it seems like this has happened before. I got the charger from the same guy I got the batteries and the one he sent doesnt look like the one in the picture. The numbers and graphics on my readout are orange-ish/red.
