Problem with SVD and batteries

Note: Before you switch between one battery and two batteries configurations, please hold the “ ” button for 5 seconds to release the remaining power in the circuit board. (when you make a switch from one battery to two batteries, the circuit board will keep the single battery settings if you haven’t released the remaining capacity; and vice versa.)

I doubt this will help, but worth a try.

I did try that and got the 'Lov' message and it powered off.

I got a new battery in the mail. Its a Efest 8500, and the same thing is happening. Battery level is reading 4.6.

no, its reading 4.2. Im starting to find some info about the charger and it seems like this has happened before. I got the charger from the same guy I got the batteries and the one he sent doesnt look like the one in the picture. The numbers and graphics on my readout are orange-ish/red.

Since the new battery is reading the same (lame I was really hoping it was just the batteries and that the charger was at least OK) - it may be this. I really would doubt it is the SVD only because - it is acting as it should if the batteries are in fact overcharged.

Let the batteries rest a while (at least several hours maybe overnight or more) and try them again to see what it reads. Or deplete them some in a flashlight if you have one that takes 18650s and see if the SVD reads the new Voltage properly. Otherwise you can replace the charger to test that (good idea anyway with the crappy info on batteries and chargers folks posted in that jerk's feedback) if you can get one in a small enough amount of days to test for certain that it is or is not the SVD. Ugh - either way you still have to safely discharge those batteries to 4.2 though.

I just put the 18500 in the SVD right out of the box with no charging. Same 4.6 readout. I did find it interesting that in the manual it states:

When installed with two batteries:
Red LED will keep blinking for 8 seconds when battery capacity is 4.6V-6.5V, the digital LCD screen will show "LOV and the iTaste SVD will turn off.

So I put in 2 18350s and it works fine. I cant seem to get to clear the remaining capacity in the mainboard though. The manual says to hold the power button for 5 seconds but that doesnt seem to be working. Anyone else have this problem?

Its still not working with the 18650s though

Im having the same problems, after 6 months of no problems. Tried various batteries at different state of charge. Still no luck.

Although it seems your SVD is stuck in stacked 18350 mode, I've been unable to get mine to behave like you describe. I can switch back and forth between 18650 and stacked 18350 with no problem.

To be certain.....you are pressing the power button for 5 seconds with the batteries _not installed_ correct?

I'm betting you got a battery with a protection circuit. Try turning the wattage all the way down and see what happens. Also make sure all the contacts are clean.
