I've been using single coil cartos in my DCT for the last month and every time I put a 3.0 ohm on it burns my juice at anything set over 3.7v. Although at 3.7v it feels more like 6v with how much heat and vapor there is. I thought it was a bad carto the first time it happened but I had ordered more and they are doing the same thing. The 2.0 ohm sc and 2.5 dc are working just fine on it.

Nothing to check the resistance with unfortunately... But 2 different orders from 2 different places have done this with the 3.0 ohm single coils. Anything over 3.7v tastes extremely burnt. I can tell a difference all the way up to 6v in the nastiness and heat of the vape. Even at 3.7v I can detect a very slight burning and no real flavor.

If it's vaping like 6 v at 3.7 you are lucky I'd say. Batt life will be longer, and I would think you would use less juice. Why push it up if you don't need to?

Yea, crap, this is a good point! When I first got my LT it came with DC's which didn't allow on V1 internals to push 6V. That drove me crazy that I couldn't use my full range available. However, since the newness of my LT has worn off, I notice I hardly ever push it past 4.7 even with my 3.0 Boges! Matter of fact, someone turned me on to these 1.7 SC Ressurectors and I am loving them! Talk about a TH at like 4.3! Wow! And it is hard to get me to switch from anything not Boge! And yes, you will use more juice the higher V's you go!

Are you sure its a burnt taste and not primer? I've noticed a strong primer taste in a couple of tank cartos lately. Unfortunately I can't pinpoint which batch they came in as I've got them all mixed together from different vendors. I've tried to vape on them a while hoping they'd clear up but couldn't stand the taste and ended up tossing them. If it is burnt instead and the resistance is correct it almost has to be a wicking issue.

I've been buying the 3.0 ohm from MadVapes or Smoke4Pennys. But the problems with the 3.0 SC's that I've been having, I'm just going to stick with the 2.0 SC's.

Where can I get the higher Ohm single coil cartos? I've looked at several suppliers, and I don't find anything over 2.8 Ohms. Any info much appreciated!! :)

EDIT: I'd like to buy the cartos in the 3-4 Ohm range.

I think it's a wicking issue. Altough I have even tried pushing a paper clip though the holes and moving it around to see if anything was blocking the holes. Still the same nasty burnt taste and really hot.

Thanks for the info! :) I appreciate it!

I found a great review by PBusardo (he's also an ECF member) on YouTube about different Ohm cartos that really helped me a lot: A PBusardo Review - VZ VV Tube Mod (AKA Lavatube) Full vs. Mini - Vaping Zone - YouTube
It runs 39 minutes, but in the last 1/3 of the review, he shows a chart describing the performance of several different Ohm cartos--from 1.25 to 4.0 Ohms--under load.

The 4.0 Ohm carto was the only one he tested that performed well under load from 3.0 V to 6.0 V on the Lava Tube. (His version was from Vape Zone) The others wouldn't perform over 3.7 V no matter what voltage the LT was set to. The LT's have that safety feature built in, I believe. Now if I could only find the 4.0 Ohm cartos, I'd be perfectly happy with my new LT! :)
