what do your boge 3 ohm actually read? I have checked all mine and they are all reading around 4.2 ohm. does this make much difference?

Did take into account the resistance of the tester wires by crossing them and seeing what OHM's the wires are? On my multimeter it's not much but I've read from others that it can be a bit. Anyways 4.2ohm should give you a good voltage range to use it on a LT you probably could even use a 5ohm on it and it would work good. Low resistance below 2ohm and dual coils are more of a problem with the LT because of the AMP limit.

I watched a long review on the lavatube or lavatube with a different name he measured max voltage with different carto's. in his review it shows 2 ohms can go to 5 volts before amp limits kick in and 3 ohm to 5.5. So using this logic wouldn't 2 ohm be better? 5*5=25/2 12.5 watts 5.5*5.5=30.25 10.08 watts. If this is accurate what would be the advantage to using 3 ohm?

If you look at this video at around 23:45 A PBusardo Review - VZ VV Tube Mod (AKA Lavatube) Full vs. Mini - Vaping Zone - YouTube you can only go to 4.9v with a 2ohm coil on a full sized LT. 3ohm's gives you more adjustment.

I use 2.5ohm's myself and I'm happy with the range I get. Really what I was saying is you get a better range of voltage settings at 3ohm and with 4ohm you could use all the way up to 6v without hitting the limit. I think 2ohm is too low and the best range is 2.5-3ohm for the LT to put you in the best "real" adjustment range where most people would be happy.

Eventually I plan on running some tests of my own but I'm not sure how I'm going to go about it because I want it really accurate. I need to build a better extension to hook my multimeter up also. I also would have to build a few coils to test with..I have over 25' of NiChrome wire to do so. I might just build some "open coils" at different ohm's to test with..maybe with coils attached to screws. If I do this I will post my results here.

But no matter the tests I'm very happy with the range I get with 2.5ohm coils..if I was using the coils just on a LT I would probably use 3ohm as the atomizers that came with the kit seem to give me a good range also...

Yeah that's the review if was taking about. He kinda recommends using 2ohm or says 2ohm would suite his needs. 2ohm at 4.9 would still be is 12 watts. 5.5 volts with a 3ohm would give just over 10 watts. I know 3ohm would give more of a voltage range but wouldn't 2ohm would give more watts range?(warmer vape) Or am I completely wrong thinking this with this way?

The coil itself would be putting out more heat but also it would be a shorter wire the coil was made from making less contact with the wick. I mean you could make a 2ohm out of thin wire and a 3ohm out of thicker wire and they could be the same length but the wires in most of these coils seem about the same.

If you wanted a good balance I guess 2.5 ohm would be it..maybe that's why I like 2.5ohm so much on different devices. BTW I doubt many users would go over 10-11 watts with most juices. I know from personal experience at 3ohms I don't even go to 5v unless it's to try to burn the gunk out of it. I think some people are looking for that smoking TH and going too far.

Maybe in part I don't like it so high because I use CE2's and they have a top coil so it's plenty hot but I can't imagine with the juice I have going that high it already tastes burnt at 4.4v at 2.5ohm's even with the coil really wet. I also don't try worrying about watts and just go for what tastes good for me and with the MadVapes TopVapor juice I use and CE2 2.5ohm 3.7-4.2v tastes good...
