Problems Rebuilding RBAs

Forgive me for my totally n00b question but....

I have an rda Octopus and I just bought an A7 because I didn't like how the rda was leaking... I have tried to rebuild both and every time I do it I'm getting "low load" on my Zmax and they won't fire. I've watched videos on youtube on how to rebuild both and I'm following the instructions (at least I think I am), but none of the videos I've seen talk about trouble shooting, or what would cause that. Please help!

I've been winding it so there are 5 coils on one side, 6 on the other.

of what gauge wire? Are the coils crossing each other or touching each other at all?

You might have a short. Get a multimeter and check the resistance after it is built.

A multimeter is essential if you are doing RBAs. I have an Octopus and haven't encountered any leaking. I build my coils between 1.2-to about 1.5ohms using Ekowool and 30 Kanthal.

I am having trouble as well! Has anyone been able to find a decent walk through tutorial on how to rebuild the coil for these! I love mine, but the wicks came out and I could not mangle them back in and it fell apart! Need new coils and wick, but Cant figure out where to even start with actually wrapping the coil and getting it back into the device with the wicks! Any help or visual tutorials or aids would be much appreciated!!

Thanks for all the info everyone. I think a multimeter is going to be my next purchase. I got a mech mod and my rda had been hitting really nice on that. I was using the zmax to read ohms, but I'm sure that isn't safest or smartest way to do it.
