I am having problems rewicking. The wick always seems stuck to the coil. Its not as easy as just easing it out. Most the time I cut one side off and pull it out the other. Invariably after all that I break the coil about 75% of the time. I'm using 32 gauge kanthal wire atm. 28 and 30 gauge are on their way.
Is thicker wire the answer? Am I wicking it too tight? What's the problem?

I use 30 ga and for me the trick i find that works best is to twist the wick.Just keep slowly twisting one end after pulling the wick out of the channels. It will slide easily right out.Do not pull while twisting, wait until it is twisted small enough first.

What kind of wick are you using? I think I am doing that but I am not sure. I will have to pay attention next time I do it.

When its time to Re-Wick, I like to give the rba/Deck a quick Rinse with warm water. Gets all the e-liquid out of the Wick and RBA/Deck so I'm not working with a Big Sticky Mess.

The Cotton is pretty easy to pull out when it is Soaked. And most of the time it comes out in One Piece.

I found that 32 gauge wire distorts real easy, the more you dryburn and reuse the 32 gauge the weaker it gets and eventually the wire just gives up then bends or breaks or shorts the atty. I began rebuilding my protanks with 30 gauge and the builds did last longer but 30 gauge is still thin. I now wick my subtanks with 28 gauge, quicker ramp up time since I'm not a high powered vaper. Occasionally I use 26 and rarely 24 gauge. I only use 32 gauge now as a outer wrap for my clapton coils.
The thicker the wire and depends on the cocoon you have developed around your coil will factor to how easy the wicking will come out. I also use tweezers and remove wicking from the center of the coil till it slides out. Over dryburning the coil also deteriorates the wire quickly and can burn the positive insulator
