Problems using MF cartos with certain juice vendors

I've heard so many people ranting and raving about the quality and taste of the juices from Backwoods Brew and Kick Bass Vapor, so I decided to order some juices from both places.

They certainly are delicious! But, I seem to be having quite a problem with both vendor's juices when using with MF cartomizers. The juices I got from both companies are 70/30 pg/vg ratio.

What I'm finding is that all of these juices seem to clog up, or make the MF carto a lot stiffer. I seem to get less vapor from them as well as after 15-20 puffs on a freshly filled carto, I will start tasting that dry carto taste, even though there is still without a doubt plenty of juice left in the carto.

I have used other vendor's juices that are 70/30 pg/vg ratio like Vapor Station, with no problem whatsoever. So I guess what I'm curious about is, is anyone else having these problems? I've tried many of the Backwoods Brew and Kick Bass juices on MANY different MF cartos, so I know it's not just a specific carto that's giving me a problem. It seems to happen with EVERY carto I try them on.

What can be done about this? I truly love the taste of these juices, and the quality of the vape is great for the first 15-20 puffs on a MF carto, after that,, it's all downhill. I'd love to be able to use this with my MF cartos, as that is my primary ecig, but I'm kind of lost as to how I can get these to work better. Any help, feedback, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Let's see.... From Backwoods, I got: Backo, Maple Tobacco, Root Beer, Waffle, Malty Toffee & Virginia. All in 24 mg strength. Kick Bass, I got Chocolate Covered Pretzel, OMG with extra flavoring, and Special K with extra flavoring, all in 36mg strength with 70/30 pg/vg. I have been having problems with all of the above when using with the MF cartos :(

I can see why. I've had most of those flavors from both companies & they have a higher VG content than what is stated. MT, for example, is more like 80VG/20PG. A number of them are dark colored too, which will gunk up cartos a lot faster. What you can do is add just a few drops of distiller water or PGA to the mixes to thin them out, so they wick better. You will also need to wait between puffs to allow the thick juices time to wick, as well.

thanks for the info! sorry to be a pain, but could you answer a couple of questions for me?

1) what is PGA?

2) is using PGA preferred over distiller water?

3) how many drops would you consider a "few"? For instance, I have some 10ml bottles, some 15 ml bottles, and a couple 30ml bottles. How many drops would I use for a 10ml, for example?

4) will using PGA or distiller water effect that taste or vapor?

Thanks!!!

PGA is pure grain alcohol, such as Everclear or high quality vodka. I prefer to use PGA over distilled water. How much to use really depends on the juice. Start with a few drops & shake it up good. If you have a juice that you think wicks well, take note of it's consistency. Try & thin out the others based on that juice. The good thing about PGA, is that if you do go a little too far, you can leave the bottle open, & it will evaporate. Try not to thin it too much though!

I have been using BWB Malty in the cartos and it is VERY VERY thick. Even takes like five seconds for a drop to come out of the darned bottle....LOL

It's hard to get it in there, but it wicks very well once the carto is full. Have you tried bottom loading the carto? IE: Use the condom-fil method, but from the battery end. You do this very very slowly (if juice bubbles up through the center tube, you are going too fast). Then, add drops in the mouthpiece end, doing a "thermometer shake" for every two or three drops.

Has been working for me with no dilution necessary. Good luck!

And here I thought the browser was underlining the word because it's not in the spell-check dictionary. Thanks, star. :)

zotzer is right: bottom feed the cartos. It definitely helps with thicker juices.

But, I have Virginia, Maxboro, Maple Tobacco, Cherry Tobacco and 555 from BWB and every one of them vape just fine in BMF cartos, even when dripped. They're not particularly thick, although thicker than pure PG Dekang juices.

Wow, we were visited by the Almighty :nun:

ditc, see how some words have a blue underline? If you hover it will tell you what it means. PGA is like that :)

Hey Star....I'm a KR8 user from way back!
It was my first PV & it got me off of the analogs.
I haven't owned a Bloog, but I am a fan!
(I have used a couple of BMF Cartos though.)
One of these days, when I have a few extra bucks, I'm going to pick one up.

Next time we have a flame war here, can I call on you to smite the infidels? :)

p.s. that's got to be the coolest name ever.

I would be happy to help, if I can, but unfortunately not everyone enjoys the screen name.
Contrary to what my "frenemies" on ECF think, I don't have an all-knowing attitude.
The one thing I do have though, is an ECF addiction!
On my computer, on my phone...day, night...I can't seem to look away for very long!

BTW...have you seen PapaBloog around lately?
His first thread on the ECF was flamed quite a bit, & I was one of the defenders of the KR8 there.

Just throwing this out there for your consideration... I exclusively vape 100% VG (apart from a very occasional 90/10 vg/pg blend) and...I have zero problems using my beloved MF cartos. These are, by no means, thin juices, either. I only mention it because I think many are of the opinion that 100% VG won't work in these cartos and it's really not that simple (from my experience). I'm not saying the pg/vg component isn't a consideration for someone who is having an issue, because it's certainly part of the equation, just not the only part. (I know no one in this thread was claiming that 100% vg wouldn't work with these, but I've heard it mentioned before. I guess I could go find that thread to place this comment on, but then I wouldn't get to talk to the almighty.)

Am I the only one with no problems using 100% VG with these? Just curious, really.

AlmightyGod, since I'm bothering to actually comment for a change I may as well take advantage of your presence and ask you a question...why does evil exist? ;)

My method of filling is bass-ackwards for with VG. I drip from the top, until it seems like I'm not getting any more to absorb & then condom fill. The real secret is to let them sit after filling. It can take awhile for the filler to fluff up. I've not had a problem with VG, other than it seems to shorten the life of the carto. When I started vaping, I used JC Red Oak & that stuff is the carto killer of all killers. JMO, of course.

Evil exists so we can appreciate the good & beautiful. Our world is filled with diametric opposites for that reason alone.

God loves you, no matter what name you have for him, or if you even believe he exists.
