I can say for sure that the prefilled are improved from the first batches. Now, I can hit them hard on my passthrough which is my preferred method of vaping and they rock! I am on my second box and no problems with any of them. Good Job tightening up the resistance! Thank You!:vapor::vapor:

  • Excellent. Keep trying batts and other flavors and VG and VG/mixes if you have them. Would be sweet to kill this issue dead and let this thread fade into oblivion...
  • I've been doing more testing on the old blanks and refilling prefilled cartos and it's like the biggest YMMV situation I have seen yet in vaping. Even when the conditions are comparable I get radically different results. For instance, today I simply swapped batteries midway through using a carto and the flavor drastically changed. Not for the worse, just different. I started getting a smoother texture with more vapor. Hard to believe a small voltage change can do this.
  • I am a Test Engineer in telecommunications and am always experimenting. I am realizing more and more complexities in the e-cig as a system. There are electronic, pneumatic, mechanical, thermal, environmental, and even hydraulic factors that all contribute to the performance. Yeah, YMMV, better still YMWV = YOUR MILEAGE WILL VARY!
BTW thanks for the PMs.

Burnt urine that's it! I smell like that too when this happens. That's what I mistook for a chemical or metallic taste!

Here's Leaford's comment about PG and VG as a thickener:

I bought 30 cartos, and of the 10 I've tried so far, I too am getting a urine smell with all my juices, all brands. So now after checking this thread, I'm wondering if it's the cartos? Sure wish someone knew and could answer.

When did you buy them? The new ones just came in at the end of last week. I am assuming you are talking about blanks. If they are from the earlier batches, email customer service and you will be taken care of.

I haven't refilled any yet. I am waiting on juice to match up with them. I really want to get some blanks as soon as we get some good reports. After vaping the prefilled for a few days I am in MaxXHeaven

Yes, and read this thread in its entirety and you may some workarounds, like partial and priming filling...

I bought them about a week and a half ago. And no, they're both prefilled menthols (which I have cleaned and reused) and blanks.

Jay, what I really need are intact cartos with the burnt taste so I can stick them in the engineers' mouths and say THIS is the problem. Then, let them take it apart and see what they think is causing it. Not disregarding what we've worked out here, but I think we need the experts' analysis as well, rather than going on just our speculation.

Get them yet Dan?

Well, no, but that's probably beacuse I'm in freaking China, not New Jersey!

Just messing witcha. ;) I just sent an e-mail to our Jay, to ask about them. If he has them, or as soon as he has them, he'll send them on to me, along with all the rest of our problem childs.
