ok now i have purchased a huge coil of 28 gauge kanthal and i cannot get it to work on my lv2. I run out of room to wrap more coils on my rba before my ohm load is above 1 ohm. will the lv2 run at 1 ohm? because when i try it just says lo like there is a short....i can run my 32 gauge at 1.7 and its fine but no luck getting the ohm load up high enough for the lv2 to fire any help?

I use 28 Kanthal on the my original first generation Lavatube with out any problems. I doesn't matter how many wraps I put on it because the original LT doesn't have low ohm protection.

I also have a Sigelei Zmax and an Evic and those devices have problems due to low ohm protection. I once wrapped the 28 Gauge about 8 times and made it fit and it came out to 1.5 ohms. But the wire is thick and it was hard to get heated, I mean I had to press the button for a while.

I also have 32 kanthal and I really have no problems when I rebuild with that. But I still want lower ohms so now I have some 30 kanthal being sent to me. Hopefully 30 kanthal will treat me well.

Bottom line. The simple answer to the OP is to change the size of your wire. Yeah you may still have 50-100 feet of other wire left but this stuff is cheap. I mean hopefully you bought it cheap. It's less than 10 dollars for 100 feet in any of the above mentioned sizes on Ebay.

here is a possibilty, wrap a L- WICK, it is possible to make the top part of the wick bigger than the bottom part( the part that is in the wick hole) when you start out making the mesh, cut it into the shape of an L. it may take some time to work out the dimensions, but i think you can do it. if the top part of the wick is thicker you may be able to get some extra ohms. never tried this but it might work. just not sure if it would be worth it. still might have to lower the gauge wire. also you have to think about the wicking of this new wick, not sure

Yeah.... this is the reason even if someone gets the 28g wire to work with the newer lava tubes, Vamo, Zmax etc...they won't like the vaping experience. With these type of devices you can make it work with 30g wire but even then it will be slower to respond compared to the 32g wire. The provari v2 has a very low ohm cutoff...so lower gauge wires can work with it.

agreed, i have a v2 and love the 28g, i would like to buy another vv device, but know that any other vv device will not work with 28g and the vape that i like. imo if you dont own a v2, and have any other vv device use a higher gauge wire. but if you can get one of these other vv devices to work at the cut-off limit of 1.2ish with 28g, that shouldnt be a bad vape. but it would take alot of patience to get just right all the time, when just lowering the wire to 30 would help out considerably.

i think I am going to wait until I get an ac9 or hybrid before I use the 28, the wick hole on this did clone is just way too small to make a wick big enough to get the ohms up where I want them. I am still working on flavor and think I may have found a wrap and coil method finally that works. up until this point ive had hardly any flavor so ive been through 10 ft of coil and a whole sheet of wick....first week rba learning curve. thanks for the help guys.....starting to see some of the cons to the lv2 but still has a place in my heart.....i love it
