Well - although I did not have any problems for the past couple of days like so many others - which as "We" all know is so unusual . . .

"ECF" is really "bugging" out for "Me" today . . .

Besides all the "502/504" messages, which is a major problem in itself, now when clicking on the "Settings" to go to the list of threads I am subscribe to - I instead see a lot of gibberish then taken to the "front Page" of ECF . . .

"today"??? oh hayl no. This site is always like this (or has been at least since i've been here) - it is ALWAYS slow, always wait forever for pages to load, and more often than not - it times out. Constant timeouts. More than half the time on here is spent refreshing pages and clicking the back button.

I've happily put up with it for the short time i've been here, cause the info on the site is so useful, but as of this moment i'm about over it... came down here intending to post a thread entitled: "WHAT THE FRACK IS WRONG WITH THIS FRACKING WEBSITE????" -  and found this thread. LOL. :D

so irritating.

why can't the site admins fix this? - upgrade the forum BB software - move to a different host or something? I'm on another humungous worldwide BB with over 36,000 users, that one is as or more busy than this one, and it works fine, smooth and fast.

as others have said i know it's not my system, i clean caches and dump temp files, etc etc etc., every day - and all my other sites load and run just fine.

i do love this place but i'm really over this. can't they upgrade the site somehow, so it works consistently?

Upgrade? already done. New host? already done. Both recently, I might add ;-) With a forum this large (and with code so heavily modified) there is a lot that can go wrong. Usually issues are taken care of fairly quickly, sometimes something will persist for a few days, though.

Besides, with over a million individual pages and over 200,000 members (we just hit that milestone today, I think) that is a LOT of traffic

The code monkeys do a pretty good job considering the rotten bananas we sometimes give them. They always kick the hamsters when they fall asleep in their wheels :p
