Problems with iTaste SVD

For some strange reason, the SVD does not want to work when stacking two 18350's. It constantly will tell me battery life is low, but when I modify the scope and only put in one 18350, it works fine. Also, the SVD works great with an 18650. Any advice?

Are you clearing the electronics before changing battery configurations?

From the instruction booklet:

Note: Before you make a switch between one battery and two batteries, please hold the "

" button for 5 seconds to release the remaining capacity in the mainboard. (when you make a switch from one battery to two batteries, the mainboard will keep the one battery settings if you haven't released the remaining capacity; and vice versa.)

When holding down the power button, I am doing this with no batteries in the device at all? Thank you for the help guys!

Correct. With no battery in the device, you'll hold the fire button down for at least 5 seconds to clear the electronics. It should then recognize the new battery configuration when you put the battery/batteries in.

Hey sorry to resurrect a resolved topic but I picked up a couple of efest 18350s a while back just to try stacking out. I finally got around to trying it out today and popped out my 650, held down the fire button for a minimum of 5 seconds but in reality in my many attempts I also did 10+ secs as it never would fire higher than 6v when I put the dual 350s in. It still fired and seemed to be firing at a higher hotter but I stuck with the 650 just because I wasn't sure it it was aware and didn't want to over drain the batteries. The few times I fired it I didn't receive any message that my battery was low or anything like OP.

Shouldn't the vv/vw options change when I switched to dual batteries? Not sure what I'm doing wrong and it's not terribly important if I figure it out or not except I probably won't get any use of these batteries.

The SVD is only good for 3-6 volts. Doesn't matter what battery. Its a regulated device.

Ah maybe I misinterpreted the benefits of stacking batteries. I'll just stick to what I'm good at then and put it back in rack.

I also use the SVD I use an 18650 battery in it but I do have a nice stack 18350 set. I sometimes use ((notice I said set)) this is because its important with Lithium batteries that if you use them in a stack that they be kept together for the rest of there life as a matched set, you will want to use them only as a set if you use one without the other you disrupt that set and they shouldn't be put back together as a set just keep that in mind when stacking batteries. I am a RC hobbyist and have a nice balance charger for my batteries its easy to keep track of matched sets with a sharpie pen.

I'm on my phone so I may not have been clear enough. I purchased 2 efest aw imr 350s 800mahs about 2 months ago as a pair for trying this specifically. I didn't even charge them until yesterday. Checked the voltages and they were the same as far as the accuracy of my multimeter goes.

Yep I got that just wanted to point out keeping them as a pair if that's the plan for them. I know a couple of folks who have used sets then split the sets to use single batteries then tried to rematch them into a set again. sometimes you get away with it, but sometimes you end up with a dangerous battery fire. Ah thanks sir I guess my issue is maybe I'm using stacks for the wrong reason? I hoped for higher wattage I guess.

with the SVD you can only get to 15 Watts. The stack will help you get to the 6 volts but the wattage you can get from a single cell no problem. hope that helps
