Problems with leaking with the Voltrove

So I just got the Voltrove in the mail. I built some coils yesterday so all I had to do was install them and wick. Installed the coils, threw some cotton bacon in it and trimmed. I put a bunch of cotton in it (5mm ID coils) and tucked the cotton like all the videos I have watched said to do. I made sure the wicks was covering the wicking holes. I have wicked this thing 3 times so far and still having trouble with it leaking out the AFC. If I put just a couple ml's in it it doesn't seem to have an issue but as soon as I fill it up more than that as soon as I open the AFC it runs out. I could use some help if anyone has experienced this issue and found a way to wick it where you don't have any leaking problems.

Never mind. Found out when I pulled it out the box it didn't come with an o-ring where the chimney meets the base and that was the reason for the leakage. Put an o-ring on and no leaking!

Where as I don't personally own a Voltrove, I have owned a massive (I know, it's all relative) RTA before. Maybe I can help.

In my case, a Sherman RTA. From the research I've done, and my experience with these massive tanks with no juiceflow control, you have to fill it up, start threading the top cap just enough so the threads catch, and then flip it upside down and finish closing the top cap...then flip it rightside up. This is done so that the pressure doesn't force juice out of the airflow when you screw the top cap on - and with these massive tanks, there's a lot of pressure.

My Sherman was a bad leaker. No matter how much cotton I put in there, I had to do the fill and flip method, or I'd lose about half an ml or more. Another thing you can try is the Scottish Roll wicking technique. Might help in conjunction with the fill and flip.

Idk if you caught the comment I made just about 10 min ago or so but the issue was that it came without an o-ring Olin the shimmery where it screws into the base. I found an o-ring that fit and put it on, no leaks. So I think that was the culprit in the leaking. No o-ring so I got it fixed and haven't had an issue for about 30 min or longer now.

Good stuff, glad you got it sorted out! Don't feel bad, it happens. I saw the same problem recently with the Geek Vape Ammit dual. Amazing the trouble one o-ring can cause lol.

Yeah it's funny that 1 little piece of rubber can keep liquid from finding a way out and all the trouble, hassle and activation it causes. This wouldn't be the first time an o-ring has cause me trouble. Probably won't be the last.

yeah right. It maybe leaks like 5-10 drops only after refilling until the tank creates a vacuum then it stops and doesn't leak until you need to refill again. With a 20ml tank that is maybe once a day.
