Hi, today I bought a davide glassomizer dual coil, it reads at 2.1 ohms on my Sid variable wattage/voltage. I tried vaping it at 9.5 watts like my other clearomizers that are 1.5 ohm dual coil, but I just get a burnt taste. I've turned the wattage down assuming the coils were getting too hot. Still taste burn. I go so low that I barely taste my flavor just to get the burn taste to go away. Is this a common problem with the davide glassomizer? Or am I doing something wrong? I've never used a bottom coil glassomizer before so possible I'm doing something wrong.. or these coils just get toooo hot with very low wattage/voltage. Any ideas?

I love my Davide Mini, never had a problem with them except a single faulty coil, but have only used a 3.7v battery so giving you a bump back to the top of page one so someone can answer you question. Good luck!

It's possible that you scorched the insulating grommet by too high a power setting. Once burned, you'll not get rid of the taste... Try replacing the head? And start low, work up.
I put in my spare coil, started off at the lowest possible wattage, 3.0, and still burn taste. My battery is an 18650, I think these coils are just junk. The pro tank 3 works perfectly at 9.5 watts great flavor etc, fyi I don't just hit it once I like to take 3 or 4 drags per hit. Might be that effecting the coil aswell.
if you changed the coil and still get the burnt taste try changing out the juice too; maybe you burnt something and the burn taste is in the juice that was in the tank at the time.
That might be part of the problem. Drawing too fast/often for good wicking.
You might consider removing one of the flavor wicks. Thicker juices (due to higher VG, or the flavorings...) can have problems, and taking out a flavor wick can improve the wicking action. Take out too many, and you may have issues with leaking, so go one at at a time.
I changed the flavor, I got it at 5.5 watts and I'm able to draw 3 times how I like without burn taste, its not as satisfying as at 9.5 watts with my other tanks so it will work for now. Gonna try cleaning it out good after work and see what's going on. Per ur guys experience, have u been able to turn this coil up to 9.5 watts etc with no probs?
Greetings; I remember reading a post on ECF that said Kanger's own wattage recommendation for the PT2 was somewhere in the area of 6 (+ or - a watt or so) -- I don't really remember the exact number, but a clever google search might lead to this post (or to wherever it is that Kanger makes the recommendation).

Ok so after further investigation and my brother's knowledge who's is far more than mine on gaping, it seems the problem is the coil / wick isn't getting enough juice flow, it seems its burning off the juice faster than it can pull it causing the coil to burn. Anyway to fix this?
how does the variable wattage thing work on the SID? do you have to tell the SID the ohms, or does it measure the ohms automatically.
VW devices measure the ohms and adjust the voltage to deliver the watts you set.

You can remove one or both flavor wicks that sit on top of the coiled wick inside of the atomizer head. Wiggle off the top chimney part of the head, remove one wick, reassemble, and see how it wicks. Be sure that you are giving your tank a few unpowered, short primer puffs every once in awhile. If you see the bubbles rise, then you are getting juice into the wicks.

For my viscosity of juice (50/50) I just could't get the vacuum going right. Also, it didn't fire on my MVP without constantly pulling the pin. It ended up being a HUGE hassle, so I gave it away. I hope that you can get yours to work though.

So does the sid just do it automatically (measure the resistance) or does the user have to press a button or something to tell the SID to measure.
Or maybe it makes a resistance measurement periodically.
Or maybe there is a circuit which constantly or almost constantly monitors resistance as part of the circuitry for shutoff for a short.

Always start on the lower spectrum and make your way up as it'll stop you burning out coils in future.

Edward SID is same as Vamo etc VW will set the voltage dependant on the ohm of coil, it's just a 1 button system menu that really differs.

Yes the vw Sid automatically recognizes the ohms, and I can set either the wattage or voltage, I've been using wattage. I may try removing the wicks like u said to see if that works. I'm going and getting a pro tank 3 tho anyways. Davide just seems to be too much hassle and unnecessary tinkering. I wouldn't suggest it to anyone to be honest.
No actually the Davide uses the Aspire coils, not the Kanger. I have one and love it. Never had the issues the OP mentions, but the quality control on the coils themselves is very weak...some have lasted a week, some I try and toss right away.
