Problems!!!

Hey everybody, I am having serious PROBLEMS! I have a vamo and a smoktech sid. Lets start with the vamo. I have been using a knock off pro tank which works good with CERTAIN 1.8 ohm coils because of the longer stem I'm guessing. But when I put a 2.5 ohm or higher coil on, it leaks like crazy. It looks just like the normal pro tank, but bigger. Any ideas from anybody who might've used this before?... When I put that same tank on the Sid with the same coil, it's like sucking through a pencil, it'll barely draw. Either way, the main problem is FLOODING!!... now, I also have a kanger T2 tank top coil clearomizer, which I can't get to work right on EITHER DEVICE! It gurgles and floods on the vamo and POPS and BARELY VAPES on the Sid. WHy would this be? They're 510 connections, so there shouldn't be a problem right?... Now for my Smoktech Dual coil DCT cartomizer tank. I love it. The flavor is amazing, and it works awesome... for like 3 VAPES!! Then after that, all hell breaks loose and when I take the drip tip off, it is WAY oversaturated! I use a q tip to sop it up, and works good for another 3 vapes or so, then it just floods my mouth with juice....... ANyway guys, I appreciate you reading my rant, but all of my equipment SUCKS ... right now! I have no clue what's going wrong. My wattage is good, battery is good, ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!... all this is stressing me out to the point of going back to analogs! Thanks in advance guys. :)

Okay flooding is usually a poor seal or the juice so double check your seals and o rings and, tell us the PG/VG ratio you are using. With high PG simply changing the wick material and drawing a bit easier of the protank can solve the problem.

My protanks, if I were to run them stock, would flood, gurgle and be nightmares on my 100% PG juices but, with a new wick and a soft pull, they perform flawlessly for me so, I'd bet we can get yours working properly too. (Just have to mind those seals when you clean or fill to be sure all is sealed properly.)

Cookster, I don't think the level of my "sucking" is the problem lol. It doesn't seem to matter how hard or soft I draw off of it. However, I have the t2 working very well now on my vamo right now, so crossing my fingers I fixed it. I just took it apart, checked everything, spread the wicks out a little bit, and now it's vapin' like crazy.

BlueMoods, all of my juices are 60/40 pg/vg mixes. Going to 100% Vg would give me more vapor, but less throathit right? What is the viscosity of the juice like on 100 VG? Is it thinner or thicker than the mixes?.. I"m sure I could search that, huh? lol

Buzzzlove, the only "copy" I have is that 4ml tank protank. The others are brand name, albeit, not GREAT brand names. lol

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm still so new at this vaping stuff, sometimes it's a bit overwhelming. :/

You didn't do the remove the donut, or wicks thing like people suggest did you? Both of those are not good and will cause flooding.
Also, while the original thought with flooding is to tighten everything down, DONT.... the bottom of the tank should just barely be finger tight.
Also, look on the bottom of the the tank cover, there should be 3 small holes, make sure they are open. If they aren't, you aren't getting any draw from the bottom through the coil, so your sucking more juice out of the tank than you should be.
(these are guesses since I don't have cloned PTs, just the real thing) The SID does tighten the draw of a PT a bit (because of the way the air flow is... but if you have a beauty ring, trying taking off the top cap of the SID, putting the Beauty ring on the EGO threads, then the PT on the 510 like it was a regular EGO and see if that works. But check the air holes first and try it.

I had the suction and gurgling problem with my CE5s. Sometimes I would have to twist the mouth piece down tighter. I then bought the EGO Kanger EVODs and have had no problems. Easy to change the coils, easy to fill with NO MESS. The taste is awesome, the throat hit is there, and the vapor is "OH YEAH". I also upgraded to the EGO Evic 2600mAh battery. Yeah today was spoil Radar day.... Now you could also be having some juice issues as well. I am using 50/50. The more VG ratio the thicker your juice is gonna be. The thinker the juice the harder you are gonna suck (absolutle no pun intended  ). Another thing that will mess you system up is juices with too much acidity in them.

Boy listen to me... 2 days ago I was a basket case over a battery issue and now listen to me... WOOOOHOOOO. LOL...

I have had similar issues on a T3 clearo and an EVOD. Just like yours, my 1.8 ohm coils worked great, but once I switched to the 2.5 ohm, they either flooded or wouldn't wick right causing weak vapor, no matter the voltage. I have since switched to either Protank II or a DCT, with no problems. The tight draw is most likely due to the air channels being blocked. If the top of your device does not have air holes, then something like a Protank that sits flush with the top will block the air flow. As far as the DCTs flooding or gurgling, it may be a poor seal, or the slots in the carto being too big or too small for the viscosity of whichever juice you are using. This can also happen if air gets trapped in the tank while filling, causing juice to escape into the air hole. PBusardo has a video on YouTube all about issues with DCTs and how to solve them.

I use a Phiniac glass carto tank (which has outstanding seals) on a Vamo and never have a problem other than the occassional DOA carto which is normal. Good consistent vape all day long, day in and day out and never a leak. I use both Boge and Smoketek 2 or 3 hole punched cartos. Just prime your carto with 20 - 30 drops and don't over-tighten the tank on the Vamo. The cartos last 7 - 14 days.

I would spend a little extra and get a good glass carto tank like the Phiniac. A good carto tank is hassle free in comparison to clearos and much more consistent.

You touched on a lot of things and really hit the nail on the head with the issues I've been having. I figured out about 80 percent of my problems, so I've been much happier the last two days. The Sid Has the air notches on the top cap, so it's really better for more of an ego style tank/cart, etc... The DCT I think has WAY too small of punches in the stock tank, so I'm going to either experiment and try punching/slotting bigger ones myself, or I'm gonna get a boge cart and try that out.... I went out and bought a Vivi Nova tank today, and I'm IN LOVE! I know it's nothing special, but it is really working AMAZING!..... Thanks for all of the replies everyone, you all gave me a lot to think about. :) by the way, if you wanna see me on youtube, check out my channel. Mangiapane85! See ya. :)

Are you flush mounting your BCC tank the Pro Tank one or clone of the Pro Tank on the SID? I have the SID and everything works on it great but I never tighten my stuff all the way down. I just tighten it tell it makes contact then 1/4 to 1/2 a turn to make sure it on there and not goin to fall off. Also I have a question for you about your SID I had a silver one I got back in June from a local vendor and worked flawlessly. I wanted the black one and they said when they got them in I could bring mine back and exchange it for one. So I did on July 17 I think. It would throw random shorts and I changed all my carts clearos etc. and it still did it. I contacted the store and they said at first leave it here the owner will have to take it apart etc. Well 2 to 3 weeks later They gave me another one and it does the same thing. So I called them and told them about it and one of the guys there said he had been using mine fine with that problem you just have to let off the button and fire it again. A new device shouldnt do this so I asked him if he had tried any of the brand new ones they have to see if all of them are doin it and he said yep they all do it so there has to be some defected SID's out there and hoping someone else has this problem and have found anything out from anyone or Smoktech themselves. If you got any questions on the SID or anything shoot me a pm or post and see what we can do. For me all the resistance heads work fine with the flavor wicks in and with pulling one out. It is coming to get a lil leaking with BCC's. Until then Happy Vaping :vapor:
