Heh heh... An iPod Touch Gelaskin would be the right size, with some careful X-Acto knifing around the switch button cut-out, to fit neatly around the barrel of the Prodigy V1. I just ordered one with an amusing (and nicely vertical) battery design called Alkaline, and my soon-to-be backup PV will have a whole new look and suddenly be an objet d'art. And not a single glue-on bead required. This is gonna be fun. NOTHING shall touch my V2 though!

LOL you rock Shan123! :) my V2 will remain nekkid as well. Haven't decided how I will dress my backup yet but your Apple-inspired ideas make me smile being a Mac/iPhone zealot myself. ;)

On my tube ... It was actually bigger. And don't let the close up's fool you, its really not that big. Quite a bit smaller then the old Prodigy Logo :)

I think those shots were a bit deceptive. The device itself is smaller than I expected as well.

Maybe you should post a shot with adapter and atty from a little farther away to give it some perspective. :)

Found the newer pics here:

The logo looks much smaller to me and very nice. Good job Grimm! :thumb:

Oh, and you too Steve. ;)

I actually didnt vote for Grimms logo, but I LOVE IT now that Ive seen it on the V2!!! i cannot wait to get it and the logo can be HUGE for all I care-the BIGGER the better, that way when people ask about it, the name is already answered! ;)

Heh -- well if Puresmoker wants NASCAR-style advertising, they could sell t-shirts. I'd gladly wear a Puresmoker tshirt, but I'm just not the guy who throws a bumper sticker on a pristine car or laptop. While I like the logo on the screen, it's bold on the metal and big enough on the thin tube to be like an advertisement on the hood of a car in a NASCAR event.

That ultimately is why I folded. Sure, you can't see it when you're palming it, but mine stands upright on my desk more often than in my hand. Text draws attention that I don't necessarily want (I'm still a discreet vaper in public) as well as can't be read well without wanting to crank your head to the side when upright. It also makes it more "commercial" and "mass produced" feeling... To each their own, but those are my reasons that I'll echo in a video review I'm sure...

Felt it was worth sharing my thoughts about my decision after Nick gave me crap about it on Twitter ;)

Like has been said several times over, it'll vape just as good either way. It's only a matter of what you personally want on display.

Excellent point. Might apply to situations other than air travel as well.

Yeah, except that we haven't (to the best of my knowledge) heard from anyone who had problems traveling with a Prodigy. As ineffectual as the TSA can be at times, I think most of their screeners are savvy enough to recognize a PV as something that doesn't pose a threat.

Having been through numerous security checkpoints with my Prodigy V1 which has a black on black logo (so basically it looks naked). All you need to do is pull the batteries out of the chamber. Never had a single issue and I carry it with juice many batteries and several atomizers in a case logic diabetic tester kit. Haven't even been asked about it

Well, I plan to fly halfway around the world in a couple of months. I'll have my V2 by then and from what I've read I suspect it'll be my PV of choice.
But depending on the flight plans I'll be heading through a few airport checks I suspect.
Although thinking about it now I might take the most direct flightplan possible purely to minimize the number of checks :p

We used a couple tubes and had the logo etched several times on each, with slight adjustments of size and *burn effect* to see which ones came out best. And this is the best :)

:( I thought I had read somewhere that the same logo on the Protege was going to be used on the ProdigyV2. Oh well. I guess I'll just have it brushed if I really don't like it.

Don't you remember the contest to design the V2 logo?
All the entries? The final selections and voting?
GrimmGreen's design winning by a landslide?

You'll have a hard time buffing it out unless you have it turned on a lathe.
I polished my Protege on a wheel and it didn't phase the laser etching.

It's probably .02 deep. You'd have to remove some serious material to get it off.

Steve, how deep does the laser etching go? have any idea?

It just freaks me out that everyone seems so upset / unhappy about this logo thing when no one got to approve, design or vote on the first two (or any other friggin logo on any other PV on the market). Have you seen some of the etching they put on some of these? Jeeeeeeesus!!!

I think it's totally disgraceful to act in this manner.

Ummm...yeah. I remember, but I didn't follow every PS thread or completely follow the progress of ProdigyV2 design. I do remember Steve saying this "We will go ahead and offer a Prodigy V2 *Logoless* ... Not a problem :) It will be an option when ordering!" Can't find where Steve talked about the Protege logo on the ProdigyV2, but it doesn't matter. Those posts were just the last I read when I looked through this subforum.

I'm not really upset or anything. I actually like Grimm's design just not as it seems to look from the pictures. If I was going to be really picky I'd say I would like it if Grimm's logo was etched on once and closer to the adapter :p (actually I think I'm probably looking at it wrong and it is close to the adapter; hard to tell).

Anyway, sorry if my opinion offended anyone.

It is etched on just once. The pics are one that Steve had several variations etched onto. These pics give a much better perspective:
