But, I always have a hard time thinking of Tennessee as being "down south". It's pretty far north, geographically. But I'll grant you the cultural part.

I'm with ya on that one. I'm not from Alabama, and when I first moved here ( very long time ago now) it blew me away that i knew the life story of the clerk at the grocery store checkout, and the organic food preferences of the pest control guy.
