The thing that would worry me about BT getting into the e-cig business would be tariffs. If they think there's enough money it you can bet that they'll start getting their lobbyists to make things cost prohibitive for their competition. I'm sure everything will still be available, but the prices will start to go up.

Blu cigs was just acquired by Lorillard.

Phillip Morris released a statement a few weeks ago that they are developing a technology for a combustionless cigarette to be introduced in 2014.

Is it time to buy up big tobacco stock?

Who would profit the most? The distributors? The patent holders? Some other entity i am unaware of?

I believe this is the infancy of the next great industry. So, lets get in on it. :)

This is meant for conversation for amateur investors and the curious. Let's keep it civil.

Great topic stinknugget. Got me thinking on "who will profit the most?"
I think the answer should me ME!!! Hahah ROFL
Seriously tho, anybody here heard of the mutual fund called the VIce Fund. It's real. Look it up.
Cigs gambling & lots of other thing ANTZ don't like.

Well, Blu is doing good enough to have a recent full-page ad in Playboy.

Definitely some serious marketing $$ going on there. It's funny since I remember the ads for all the old cig brands in there ages ago, and now it's an e-cig.

What's next, a NASCAR sponsorship? That'd be rather appropriate I think for the former Winston Cup. Perhaps Tony "Smoke" Stewart could drive the Blu car.

The bad news: Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton use 'em....

And we might all be forced to go to things like the HH.357 instead of cheap, chinese attys because they won't have import restrictions on stuff made in the US.
And that's why I have about 75 of the Joye 510 atomizers in my tackle box.
By my estimates, they will last me at least 25 years.
:)

And yet I still continue to fight for what is right.
Because it isn't all about me.

This is the internet age, and you've got to keep up...
Blu already sponsors a Nascar.

I wish I could give you the link but it isn't working right now.
Just google it and you'll see.
:)

EDIT: Here is an alternate link you can use: Blu Cigs Coca-Cola 600 NASCAR

I do, usually but I must have missed that race. Or, they were on a car that was in the back of the field and didn't get shown. ;)

I don't really care enough about Blu or corporate e-cigs to be bothered to google 'em TBH.

The more I think about Swisher-branded e-cigs, the more I think it's a subtle attack against vapers and an attempt to kill vaping through anti-drug legislation.

We all know what we can't talk about on ECF and we all know why swishers exist (hint: very few ever get smoked as-is). By branding the first BT e-cig "Swisher" they're not going to appeal to anyone who wants to quit smoking.

I'm not sure it'd work, but I'd almost bet on those being their intentions. It could just be a trial run with a brand that can't get any worse publicity in case it fails……but I think the nefarious interpretation is probably correct.

I really hope I'm wrong. Maybe I am. Do people outside of cities actually smoke swishers?

I used to love to get a Swisher Sweet for my poker games back in my college days.

In fact, I would still love to have a Swisher Sweet now and then, for special occasions.
I really, really like them.
:)

And to be honest, I had never heard of this "other" use that you refer to.
And I even have a medical prescription for other things.

You ever try the CCV B&M juice? It's kinda hard to come by, but it's dead-on for a B&M flavor.

Far as the "other" uses go...just imaging taking the tobacco out, leaving the wrapper....I guess it's a urban thang. ;)

Wow. You're honestly the first person I've ever even heard of actually smoking them except as a joke. The "very few" line was because I assumed some people weren't in on it.

Maybe it's just an Urban or Atlanta thing……kinda standard here. You see a swisher now, you'll see bloodshot eyes in 20. Franky, I'm amazed it's not a huge "arrest me" sign.

I really hope I'm wrong and that it's a legit try.

I would expect them to tax anything related to Ecigs - to death ...

(giggles) Yup - my dad did; hubby does - great bug deterrent! :2c:
