Project boxes

Hi guys,
I finally received the flat Lithium batteries (Thread discussing them) but they don't fit in a 4xAA radioshack box.

My idea was to fit them in little more of the space of two 14500 but I was wrong. The flat batteries are a bit taller than the 14500 (probably they are 20mm or even 24).
So, where can i find one box taller than the 4xAA box? And... a 5xAA size (wider) probably would be better so it won't be so crammed

Any suggestions?

edit: forgot to say that I'm also willing to learn how to mold plastic/PVC if it's not expensive and "too" difficult. It would be a nice skill to learn

I think you answered your own question in your subject. Radio Shack has "Project Boxes" that are just plastic boxes with a lid screwed on. They come in different sizes, you should be able to find one to match your batteries.

At my local scrap shack, they're near the soldering irons.

There is a problem with the radioshack boxes: they are too thick!
At the end I bought two pieces of plastic in an art shop and a bonding liquid (i think it's a solvent but I'm not sure) and they told me it will be strong

you want to bond something? I swear by JB weld... the stuff is like d*** armor!

Never heard of JB Weld before, but that's normal since I don't know pretty much any "manual" skill
I see from the website that it is kind of a paste to bond two materials, right? The stuff they suggested me to use is a liquid just made to bond two equal kind of plastic... tomorrow I'll try and I'll let you know (if I won't blow up the house by mistake)

So far it's not going good... The box I made it's tooooo huge
But on the positive side, the liquid solvent is amazing: you apply it with the little brush included and in few seconds/a minute it will melt the two plastics together! I couldn't believe the results! I apply a lot of force on one side of the box and it doesn't move or break!
Tomorrow i'll try to change the shape of all the project...

Unfortunately not all radio shacks carry the stuff for do-it-yourselfser, i went to my local RS and asked where it was and the guy said there hasnt been a call for it in a long time so certain stores are discontinuing that section. (RATS!) So next bet would be to order online i guess, or make your own.

do you have a home depot nearby? you can order a sheet of plexi and cut it to your own dimensions. even make a "clear" mod to show off your clean wiring (if your wiring is clean )
