Proper pipette cleaning technique?

Ok so after mixing my juices Ive been rinsing my pipettes with water and letting them air dry.

What are other people doing to clean pipettes after use?

Also, at what point do you throw out old pipettes and replace with new ones?

Some times I don't want to wait for them to dry out , so I use my wifes hair dryer and "blow" the remaining droplets out. Works great for me.

I let mine soak in warm water to clean them. I keep 5 in rotation so letting them air dry isn't a problem. I throw them out once they stop working (the bulb will crack over time).

I never worry about cross contamination, but I don't use the pipettes for flavors. I just use the dropper bottles they came in and count drops. That's one of the benefits of making 6ml batches.

I do a quick rinse with vodka....dries quicker than water, and takes the flavor out...well, most flavors I have found that it is easier however to use the insulin syringe for flavor measurement (minus the needle of course)....and they are quite cheap.

I agree with the above post. You can use the pipettes until the bulbs crack.
