Proper Smoktech RDA rebuilding

So i just bought my first dripper, nothing fancy just a SmokTech rda dripper(hence the title of this post) I put my first coil on and and i started getting a few good hits off of it. Decent vapor and flavor but now the hit quality is kind of hit or miss... I've tried looking up a good video on youtube on how to rebuild it to have it work at its best but can't seem to find one...

Can anyone tell me how i should be doing this? Like how many ohms should i make the coil? I don't have an ohm reader(only an mvp to tell me ohms and I'm unsure of the accuracy of that...lol plus i want to try to get down to maybe .5ohms or something) so if someone could tell me how many wraps i should make the coil when using a 30g wire. Also should i try to put a very small amount of cotton? right now I have a good amount in there, i used the amount of cotton as if i was rebuilding my kayfun lite.

So i don't know, if someone could maybe give me a link to a good video or another post on here that'd be awesome.

Thank you,
TheMelody

Mvp is fine for checking your ohms as long as you stay up around 0.7 or higher. As far as building goes there is a great app called vapers toolbox that can tell you how many wraps you need to get your target resistance. And if you are using the mvp it gets a little iffy under 1.2 ohms . Even with standard res dripping is great for flavor so dont worry about not going low. Happy vapeing

Having a RDA start to drop off could get shady without being able to check your ohm's. You might have a little trouble with a double coil for your first build if it's the RDA I'm thinking of, but I'm sure you can. I wouldn't go as low as .5 on a single though.

and remember it's not just the low ohm's, it's the air flow and how you wick it as well. You can throw clouds and get good flavor with a build that's not all that low if it's set up right.

I'm just chewing up and spitting out what was told to me not too long ago, LoL. Have fun with it and don't rush it

Well like i said I've got the Innokin MVP to tell me the ohms. I'd really just like to go as low as i can while reading the ohms. So .8 would be nice to start with.

No, I have a Caravela mod with a 18500 battery I'm using with the dripper.

It's just a single coil SmokTech Dripper RDA
This is it:

Also, when i got it it had a coil already build with a wick and stuff which i replaced right away. but it looked like this

by that i mean the actual wire was really far apart like this one. Should i be wrapping my coil like that? because i didn't/don't.

But with this RDA i don't think i could build a dual coil, the guy at the vape shop told me not to atleast.lol

That's one of my biggest questions kracker, just how should i wick it in order to get the best vape/flavor production?

Well thanks for all the input so far,
TheMelody

When the coils touch it's a micro coil (then you have macro, nano, and super nano depending on the size) I use cotton. When I started I was using too much. You want as much cotton through the wick without having to force it. My favorite single coil was a twisted 28 gauge. Go on youtube and do a search and a video from RipTrippers should pop up. I ran that for a while.at .8ohm and LOVED IT !!

edit - there's a guy on youtube TREVOR JONES that shows you how to twist it with a pen and he'll respond to any questions you have.
