Propylene Glycol BP?

Hi can anyone help, it's all new to me? so I've been using an e-cig for about two months and loving it. I have been fiddling with juice and have decided to make my own. I'm used to messing around with toxic chemicals it's part of my job and have the safety equipment required. I bought some Propylene Glycol BP from a vet practise! approx. £3.50 for 500ml. My question is this, I understand that the 'BP' in 'Propylene Glycol BP' indicates that it is pharma grade, can anyone confirm this for me?

From another thread:
"There is USP/EP/BP pharma grade, food grade, and industrial grade. The USP/EP/BP pharma grade is reduced to 'food' grade once it is removed from its USP/EP/BP grade container as the propylene glycol will attract water from the surrounding air (being a humectant), and its purity will perhaps be lower than that required by USP/EP/BP pharma grade due to this possibility. So whether you source pg from a cosmetic company supplying raw materials such as pg, or an e-liquid company supplying pg - you are purchasing the same propylene glycol - USP/EP/BP pharma grade reduced to food grade due to repackaging into smaller containers (unless of course you propose to buy it by the drum)."

wizardlabs is a nice cheap place to source your chemicals if you are looking to DIY your own juice. You can easily get your costs down to around 15 cents a day with DIY. All you need is the nicotine, the Vegetable Gylcerin (Walmart First Aid section - it's just called "Gylcerin" it's USP grade) around 3 bucks for say a 6 month supply, and the USP grade Propylene Glycol and your flavors. I'd go with Capella's or The Perfumer's Apprentice but Capella's is probably a safer bet. TPA is very iffy, but they are cheaper or give you more for your money at least. I think I have a satisfaction rate somewhere around 25% or less with their flavors... Double Chocolate (Clear), Peanut Butter, Black Cherry, and Grape Juice are pretty tasty.

Also, you really don't need any safety equipment unless you are a klutz. Maybe some gloves for the first time or two. Go with 60mg nicotine solution in 100% PG. That way you need less actual PG and that is the more expensive of the two chemicals between PG and VG. At 24mg strength, which is what I use, it's 2ml nic, 1ml PG, and 1.5ml VG with .5ml of flavoring. That's a 70/30 PG/VG mix with 10% flavor ratio.

Use Ejuicemeup - a free to download program that lets you set all your ratios, has recipes on board, and you can save your own or edit theirs, and you can set a default mix so that when you pop it up it will always come up with that mix. WIN.

When you get 6 posts wait 1 hr for the ECF servers to reset and I'll pm you some info related to your location. The days of retail purchasing strong flavorless Nic are soon coming to an end IMHO.
Cheers.

Wow wish they where over in the UK everything looks much cheaper over there!!! Maybe I need to get an order together and get a friend to post it over as a gift. Main problem over here is I think anything over 72mg and you have to be licensed which is just rude in my book.
