I'm a noob. I just got my first X2 during Imagines b-day sale, and got my 2nd for the 4th of July sale.

I've been using the standard cartos, but have to fill a couple different flavors every day. I've been reading about the clearos, and the new carotos that get filled with a needle.

Can anyone list the pros and cons of the 3. I really don't know which way to go for my next order. Thanks!

Well the new carts are a different form of clearso's, or ce3's. The ones they carry now are ce4's. Another vendor calls them the pheonix. Do a search for Pheonix clearomizers and you'll see what the deal is. As far as pro's and cons.

Carts- pros- easy to fill and carry around. Can buy them prefilled and avoid the mess. Con's- can burn and taste bad and need to be tossed. Don't hold much e-liquid. Flavor is lacking because of the poly fill.

Ce3's or pheonix - great flavor and good vapor production. Hold's more liquid than standard carts. Small and easy to fill a few and carry them around. Longer life and can be cleaned. Cons- have to fill with a syring, a specific way. Harder to refill unless empty. Some reports of leaking.

Ce4's or x2 clearomizers- easy to refill, good vapor production, can be used many times. Good flavor, hold more juice than either of the other two. Cons- some wicking issues. Not as easy to carry around multiples, meaning you have to carry around a small bottle of juice to refill. Some juices have been known to melt or crack these, but may have resolved this issues with the new plastic.

Also in both of the ce's you can see how much juice you have left. Your expierence may differ slightly and others may have methods that help resolve any of the above issues. I prefer the ce3's because they work best for me, but I use all 3 at different times depending on the situation. Well, once I'm out of my current prefilled carts I'm done with carts. Refilling any of the 3 is also the less costly than buying prefills. If I can help clarify anything or you have any questions, let me know.

All 3 serve a function and have a place.

Cartos are easy to fill and very convenient and portable. They never leak unless you overfill them. Can be used on both the small battery and the X2. Cons: The filler can mute the flavor. You dont know how much juice is left in them. You can burn the filler if you vape them dry. You really cant change flavors with them. If you use cartos, the ones that Smokeless Image sells are awesome. The last a long time and can be refilled several times. They are bottom coil and have less of a tendency to burn. If you watch my video on how to turn one into a juice teste, I explain and show why.

Clearomizers (X2) also known as ce4 or vision stardust. Easy to fill. You can see how much juice you have in them. They hold more juice. Easy to clean and change flavors. Purer taste than carto because there is no filler. Slightly warmer vape because coil is closer to your mouth (some will consider this a con) Cons: Can leak a little juice in your mouth if you hold them upside down for too long. Some juices separate flavors as you vape and the last 1/3 of juice left in clearo has a different taste than the first 2/3. Thicker juices dont wick as well and can result in dry hits (though this happens in cartos as well). Not as portable as a carto. Though they will work on the small batteries, they dont fit properly and are made for the X2.

Bottom Coil CE3 (Phoenix) - Coming soon to Smokeless Image. - IMHO, the best of both worlds. Connivence of a carto because it is portable and doesnt leak. You can see how much juice you have. Can be used on both the small battery and X2. Because it is a bottom coil, less wicking problems, even with thick juice. Less separation problems of juice. Holds 1.5ml. Super easy to clean, even easier than the Clearomizer. Very easy to change juice flavors, most of the time you dont even have to clean first. Smaller wicks so less flavor is retained in the wick as opposed to the clearomizer. Once you get the hang of the syringe, the easiest to fill of the 3. Cons: You must fill with a syringe and fill upside down. If you do not fill properly, it WILL leak. To refill before empty, you need to remove the vacuum pressure that has built up with a syringe or some juice will leak out as you fill. Plastic can crack if you squeeze too hard (Ive only done this once) Slightly cooler vape (and I mean slight) because the vape has a little further to travel since it is a bottom coil.

Personally, I like the Bottom Coil ce3 on the road and the clearomizer at home. If you want to see the differences demonstrated, check out my video that discusses all 3. Cartomizer, Clearomizer or Tank, which should you use? - YouTube

Haven't tried the clearos yet...... but I've got to say I'm impressed with the bottom coil cartos. After using one exclusively for 2 weeks at about 2 mls a day, I decided to take it apart to see what was going on.

Flushed the carto with a syringe/cone and the polyfil just popped out!!!! Unrolled it and the fill was as pristine clean as new. Sure don't see that with a Boge Vertical.

Dried out the poly and used the coffee stirrer trick to replace it. Vapes like new.

I'll add another option..... SI also sells an XL carto which can be selected when ordering blanks. It holds 1.5ml of liquid which makes it last about as long as a clearo. Being poly filled it does mute flavors but will never leak. After a little practice it's easy to know when a carto is approaching empty, at least for me. I used one on an X2 for a five hour drive and didn't finish it until the next day. It is longer than a standard carto but looks better on an X2 with a cone to me..

There's a reason they are so good. I recently cut one open to show why. Here's the video.

I will add that using an X2 clearomizer is difficult with the smaller manual batteries. It's not just that it looks silly (which I'm fine with), it's also difficult to press the button because the clearomizer partially covers it up.

You're making the case for automatic batteries. I use a clearo on 78mm auto batteries and it's great!
