Been reading up on the protank 2 and my head is spinning. When I first put it on my provape 1 it worked like a dream. Now it has such a tight draw it's putting juice in my mouth an gurgling I am ever so careful filling it and do not screw it on too tight. What's happening? Sometimes I think I'll just stick with my evod and ego. They work like a dream

Carmigirl,

I think it is just luck of the draw with a lot of these devices. I have no issues with Protanks v1 or v2 but many people do.
I just purchased an Aspire from a local b&m where everyone was using them without issues.
I have had 3 atty's in this thing in 3 days- gurgles, flooding, leaks, etc..
Works great with their gear, not so much with mine.

No offense to anyone with Aspire's- I should say they don't work well for me and leave it at that.

Hope you can get it figured out Carmigirl.

How long have you been using the same coil in it? Sometimes the silicon seals on it go bad. Also, the o-ring that goes on the bottom of the threading in the base that the coil head goes into needs replaced occasionally. Other than that, maybe the battery device your attached to may not be getting the coil hot enough to burn juice as fast as the wicks can deliver it. First, try new o-rings and seals since thats the cheapest fix. Next would be changing the atty, next would be considering a new battery. Good luck! PTII's are finicky but when they work they work as well as anything out there in my experience.

You are getting gurgles from your poor airflow with the Protank 2 and Provari. If you are sucking too hard on your tank because of a tightened air-flow, you will definitely flood your atomizer, and it will leak everywhere. I'm sure the Provarians will come in and help you with the "Fix" but I've heard that you cannot tighten down the Protank 2 all the way on a Provari.

Several issues going on at once it sounds like, one being air flow on the Provari, don't tighten it down on the Provari, just enough to make contact.

Second, how long have you been using the atomizer head inside the tank, these are replacable and also could use some simple TLC and care =)

First of the simplest maintenace steps, about every 2nd refill on the tank, take out your head from the tank and run it under warm tap water, run it across the wicks and down through the chimney, this will clear up a lot of gunk out of the wicks and rinse the coil bringing the head back up to a respectable output, darker and sweeter liquids, do this every refill
Second or intermediate level care, soak the head in vodka or everclear for about 20 minutes every week, then rinse out under tap water like mentioned above, this loosens up and disolves alot more build up
Third this is a little more advanced, but is still relatively simple, after an intermediate soak and rinse, take the head, attach it to the base, then gently wiggle the air chimney off, this is only press fitted in, do not lose the upper seal, leave it attached to the chimney stem, then attach the base and head to your battery, set the Provari to lowest voltage, then in slow 5 second pulses, fire the coil up, it will sizzle and burn off the water first, then you'll see it start vaporizing gunk and carbon out of the wick and off the coil, then once this is all cleared, you'll start to see the coil glow, continue to slowly pulse the coil until it glows evenly, once this happens, press the coil cup and air chimney back together, reseat the top seal back down to where it us just gripping the top of the coil cup no more, then rinse the head again and let sit and air dry, put a previously cleaned head back into service or put a new head into service.

This maintenance should extend the life of your heads upwards to a month even 2 months depending on type of juice you are using with it and keep them in tip top performance as long as possible, upon popping the chimney off, if you see any dark crystalizing in the wicks, or the wicks are desintigrating, other funky stuff beside being dark and gooey looking before dry burning them, toss them, they have reached their life expectancy.

Thanks for the responses everyone. To answer some of the questions.....I'm using the provape 1 and not the provari. I only used one tank full of juice refilled and that's when it all started. I changed the atomizer with ones that are for the provape and evod. I do notice since then there is small juice leakage between tank and battery. Battery is brand spanking new and I have rinsed off wicks and such as I also do with my exodus. I'll get it figured out will all your help...thanks so much!
