It doesn't sound like a flavor ate a hole through the glass. Most acids don't even eat through glass. It sounds like an air bubble was in the glass in the manufacturing process. Silica is heated and melted to produce glass. This must have been missed in the quality control check, and the bubble eventually broke through normal handling. Replace the customers tank and send the broken one back to Kanger for a replacement.
