protank 2 mini question

Hello all!

I just had a customer bring in a mini protank 2 with a hole in the glass. He said that he noticed a bubble in the glass,and after using it for a few days it got hot and the bubble burst.

Has anyone seen something similar to this?

Nope - never seen it personally, and I vape citrus, root beer, pluid, you name it in those little beauties. A pic would be cool.

It doesn't sound like a flavor ate a hole through the glass. Most acids don't even eat through glass. It sounds like an air bubble was in the glass in the manufacturing process. Silica is heated and melted to produce glass. This must have been missed in the quality control check, and the bubble eventually broke through normal handling. Replace the customers tank and send the broken one back to Kanger for a replacement.

Hmmm...wonder if someone told him to drill an airhole?

Or as someone else said, could have been manufacturing defect, air pocket, got hot, broke it

No e-liquid should be doing that to glass. I'd go with the air bubble theory mentioned above. The replacement glass for them isn't expensive, so if he bought the tank from you, and you want his business in the future, just replace it. I think you can write it off in taxes if you're a business.

I can definitely imagine a bubble breaking causing something like that. I've never seen a bubble in protank glass, but I haven't looked at that many.

Huh... That's not what I was expecting it to look like. Is it discolored around the edges of the hole or is that just a reflection?

It is definitely black around the edges and you can really see it at an angle. It looks crazy, right? They are good people, so I knew that they were being honest with me.

Wow, That is not something I would expect. Doubt it is the juice since glass wouldnt react to the juice. Guess this is the "lucky winner"... lol
