so guys i just bought the new kangertech Unitank, which is similar to the protank 2 but its a top filling tank (smarter design IMO),
I am currently using it on my Innokin SVD, and i noticed that compared to my Mini protank ii (also kangertech) i noticed the draw is a little restrictive.

A customer at the local vape shop was showing me that he modded his bottom coil on his larger protank 2 by doing something to the little wick sitting inside. He just quickly showed me so i didnt really grasp what he did. All i remember is that he popped the coil off its base revealing the little wick that sits inside, however i dont remember what he said to do with it.

my question is what exactly did he do? i noticed when he let me hit his tank that the draw was just as good as the mini protank 2 and not restrictive at all.

Here are pics of the current units that i own :2cool: vape.jpg

Wick modifications are for liquid control not air flow:
Dry hits remove a few strands
Flooding, add a bit.

Remove tank from Device.
Take a few draws,
This is maximum Air Flow. If it reduces when attached to your device, you have screwed it down to tight, blocking the air holes.
Several Mod designs have this issue.
This is one simple fix.

Your advice is always good, especially where protanks, etc are concerned - Kanger should be paying you! ;)

The perfect definitive answer. For the new comer, it's very rare when removal of a flavor wick will solve a problem. For the most part, they will add problems including flooding which will lead to leaking. If you are vaping with 100% VG, the removal may make sense. Otherwise, please remember that the flavor wicks are there for a reason, including improvement of wicking and flavor. The makers of these coils don't add an extra wick to lessen the quality of the vape. That would not make sense. Not only does the flavor wick improve the vape in most cases, but it also stops steaming hot liquid from flying into your mouth, a common complaint on the Forum, and usually self-inflicted. My two cents. Good luck!
