As the title says, I need some suggestions for which ohm coils I should get for my Protank 2s as I'll be needing some new ones shortly. I've tried both of the coils that came with the Protank 2 and they came out to be 2.0 ohm and 2.1 ohm, I do not have a preference really at this point and could not really notice a difference between the two. I'm using the Protanks with an MVP 2.

What would the difference be in the vaping experience between using say a 1.8 and a 2.8 ohm coil? Are they any benefits to choosing one over the other?

Thanks in advance for any input you may have.

You wouldn't be able to tell a difference between 2.0Ω and 2.1Ω. :)

If you have an MVP2, then you have the ability to try resistances (and voltage/wattage settings) from as little as 1.3Ω to well over 3.0Ω... try everything that is available to you to see what you like.

Lower resistances will provide a "warmer" vape, higher will provide a little "cooler" vape experience.

As you have a variable voltage APV, the difference will be minimal assuming you adjust the voltage up or down to give you the vape you like.

Some will probably mention a higher resistance coil will heat up slower and give you a slightly less intense vape. I suggest that the difference is imperceptible to most people. Some may also mention that you'll get slightly better battery life using a higher resistance coil - again, I suggest that the difference will be so small as to be unnoticeable.

I personally wrap my coils around 2.0 ohms. They give me a great range of adjustment on my device to get the vape I prefer.

I've noticed that Kanger coils run higher than advertised--usually ~0.2Ω higher. I always order the 2.2Ω ones--I think they are the easiest to work with as they also work with set voltage batteries. Generally, Kanger recommends 5.5-7.5 watts and I agree. I like 6 watts. I suggest you start low and adjust up only if necessary.

Good luck!

Best advice i can give is not to turn up the voltage/watttage too much. The little card that comes with the protank gives you the ranges you require for the ohms that you have in the coil. Too much power will just cause you problems with flooding, burnt taste etc.
I too wrap my own coils using 4 or 5 turns and whatever the ohms setting that comes out (usually between 1.8 and 2.2 ohms) is what i'll vape with the correct voltages as suggested by kanger.
Fabricator4 has a blog about the protank and has kept me right since i started using them about a month ago http://http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/blogs/fabricator4/5045-bottom-coil-clearomizers.html

With an MVP, and its limitation of 5V max, I would stick with coils in the 2 Ohm area, +/- .2 Ohms... That's gonna give you a bit more flexibility. Keep in mind, the MVP will only fire as high as its limitations provide. From the data I have seen, lower than 2 Ohms maxes out the circuit too quick, and above 2.5 Ohms will not allow it to ever fire the device at a high enough power to achieve a warm vape if that's what you like. 2.0 seems to be the sweet spot, and offers you the widest range of vape temps based on what you like.
