So it's a little weird and I haven't been able to nail down why this happens. I rebuild my PT's with 28 ga and meter every build before it goes onto a PV. I use the same build pretty much all the time 1.7/1.6 ohms.

When I screw them onto my PV I get a short error, back them off just a little everything is fine. The PV reads 1.7 ohms and vapes fine. I put my fogger or R91 on the same PV and everything works fine, no short.

Anyone else have the same experience. What is the cause?

I've found the pin inside the airflow control is a little tall. I have two aero bases and sometimes when I screw in a coil it makes the pin at the bottom stick out a little. I'd have to guess that when you attach the tank to a mod, the pin is squishing the rubber grommet and causing a wire inside to bend and touch a side.

I have a Sigelei Zmax V3. It's fixed pin has caused me issues with multiple tanks, nothing I can't work around but it is a pain. I wish it was floating or adjustable.

When I have one of my aerotanks on the Zmax, I screw the aero down until it just makes contact then unscrew the beauty ring up until it's snug against the bottom of the tank. Looks a little stupid but it works.

YES YES YES and theres a cure for it lol. If you have the old style AFC that has the 3 holes and just screws up and down the springs in it get green corrosion on them and cause issues. I found that out when I had one come apart on me. They make the version 2 AFC now that fits the aerotank and protanks its just like the afc on the mega. And wow your not going to believe the difference in taste and vape. Origin vapes has them.

Thanks for the tip - I may have to try one of these - Is the 510 screw on the AFC v2 any shorter? - If its just a hair shorter I bet I could ditch the o-ring trick.. I keep forgetting about them and they fall out and get lost...

Not sure if theres any difference or not. But trust me you will notice the difference in the way your coil heats and the hit you will get from your tank. I dont use an oring on my aerotank on the 510 connector. I noticed on the old style I was always having to keep screwing the adjustment up and down alot to keep a good connection. The v2 I adjusted it once to get the draw I wanted and havent touched it since. Ive been using it for a little over a week now.

Thanks for the hint about the new style AFC Joe. I wonder if the springs corrode on it too. I just wish I hadn't violated my own first rule of vaping. "Never buy too many of an item, because they'll probably come out with a newer and better version soon".

I dont think the V2 even has springs in it. It feels more like its o ring sealed when you adjust it. Funny thing is I had just bought 2 of the old style AFC's just before I ran onto the Version 2 ones. Oh well I just keep an old style valve on my spinner 2 now for doing dry burns so I dont have to take my tank off my daily use mod.

I believe it's spring and ball bearing. MVB has them at a decent price.
